Did you hear? MN8 Energy and the City of Cambridge are advancing the mission to reach #netzero emissions in Cambridge, MA and having a sizable impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Champaign, IL at the same time! The largest-ever VPPA by a U.S. city is being supplied by our Prairie Solar project in Illinois – which is replacing coal with #renewables and cutting nearly twice the emissions that a comparable project in New England would. Yesterday MN8's Senior Director of Energy Management and Trading, Tyler Anthony, took us back to the classroom at #GreenBiz25! Tyler, joined by Chris Pennington, Meghan Shaw, and Susanne Fratzscher, covered the core pathways organizations can use to source clean energy that is best suited to fit their needs. From VPPAs to RECs - walking through the Clean Energy Solutions “bingo card” made understanding Clean Energy Procurement straightforward and clear. Insights from leaders at Iron Mountain and City of Cambridge exemplified the different journeys organizations can take to a net zero future to best serve their organization and clients. Thank you to our incredible panelists and those who were able to join us live in Phoenix yesterday. Couldn’t make it to the session? Here were a few key takeaways to put your organization on the right path for clean energy procurement: - Prioritize clarity and get high-level buy-in within your organization on what kind of impact you want to create and build; - Look at the full picture - including your organization's financial picture and creditworthiness - to help you understand not just your goals but your constraints; and - Identify the right partner(s) that can help you sort through the options, understand the trade-offs, and shape each solution so you source what you really need.
