💡 New #UNEP Adaptation Gap Report 2024 - Urgent Action Needed! The latest report reveals a significant gap between adaptation finance needs and actual funding flows. Although international adaptation finance to developing countries rose from $22 billion in 2021 to $28 billion in 2022—the largest increase since the Paris Agreement—this progress is still far from bridging the estimated $187-359 billion annual finance gap. The report calls on nations to set ambitious new climate finance goals and emphasizes the shift needed from reactive, project-based funding to strategic, transformative investments in adaptation. It also highlights the importance of capacity building and technology transfer to ensure impactful, long-term adaptation actions.
