  • Today marks a significant milestone in our journey as we announce the opening of our latest recycling plant in Vietnam.   This state-of-the-art facility aims to enable large scale sustainable change in the rapidly growing Vietnamese textile production market. It will also allow us to serve as a global partner for brands and retailers around the world.   “Our expansion into Vietnam is a crucial step in our strategic business plan. Circularity is currently an underutilized tool for the Vietnamese textiles industry, and by bringing our advanced technology to a key textile hub, we are not only enhancing how we serve our customers by expanding our global manufacturing footprint but also creating a positive shift towards circularity in Vietnam.” - Anders Sjoblom, Recover™ CEO.   A special thanks to WWD and Rhonda Richford for their exclusive coverage of this announcement.   #recoverfiber

  • We are featured in the recently published Upstream Circularity Playbook!   Developed by Global Fashion Agenda with support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the H&M Foundation, it is designed to be a complete guide to help garment manufacturing regions – such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia or Indonesia – to valorize post-industrial textile waste.   Our Head of Sustainability, Ana Rodes, is also part of the Global Circular Fashion Forum SteerCo and contributed directly to the playbook. You can discover step-by-step guidance to establish and scale upstream circular ecosystems.   Recover™ is featured on page 23, as a case study from Spain, along with our partners at Jeanologia and Evlox, for our REICONICS recycled denim capsule collection.   Discover more use cases from our colleagues at Reverse Resources or Primark in the playbook: https://lnkd.in/dcYHegvG   #GlobalFashionAgenda #UpstreamCircularityPlaybook #recycledcotton #circularfashion

Today, we're proud to publish our third annual Sustainability and Ethics Progress Report. Since launching our Primark Cares strategy: https://lnkd.in/epPzT5dH three years ago, we’ve been focused on turning our commitments into action. Here are some highlights from the past 12 months: ♻️Two-thirds (66%) of clothes sold in Primark contained recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, up 20% from last year. 👕 Our Durability Framework sets the standard for how we are making clothes that last longer. ⬇️We’ve reduced our carbon emissions, with a 1.9% reduction across our value chain since our baseline year of 2019 and an 11.6% decrease since last year.  🧑🌾 We’re expanding our decade-long Primark Cotton Project, helping thousands of cotton farmers across India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan adopt regenerative agricultural practices.    You can read the full Primark Sustainability and Ethics Progress Report 23/24 here: https://lnkd.in/e8d_4hsb #Sustainability #Primark

Anders Sjoblom, CEO at Recover™, took to the stage at Web Summit this week, one of the world’s biggest technology conferences. Joined by Ganni A/S co-founder Nicolaj Reffstrup, and interviewed by Lucy Maguire, Senior Trends Editor, Vogue Business, Anders highlighted the exciting possibilities and important considerations for brands looking to adopt recycled materials like Recover™. According to Anders, “there are a lot of things that brands need to consider, and reliability is one. We are one of the few players who can offer a large-scale capacity, and we have proven that our product is scalable. With our capacity we can be a partner for the big brands and make a significant environmental impact, while ensuring a consistent quality across our hubs.” Here are some of the key takeaways from Anders: 1. Demand conversion is a key challenge: There has been a lot of interest and public commitments by brands, but the actual use of recycled materials remains extremely low – last year only 4% of cotton use was recycled compared to 96% virgin. To overcome this, we need to create great products and elevate the perception of recycled material, introduce more legislation, and increase both traceability and transparency.   2. Appealing to consumer’s emotions: Recover™ aims to make recycled materials more desirable by tapping into the emotional side of consumers. Since 90% of our decisions are based on emotions rather than logic – especially in the fashion industry - Recover™ is building an attractive ingredient brand to inspire customers to make sustainable choices.   3. Reliability is a key asset for brands: For brands looking to expand into sustainable materials, reliability in quality, capacity and sustainability is essential. Recover™ ensures consistent high-quality production, efficient material access for brands across our global production hubs, and clear traceability and transparency through data-backed claims and third-party certifications like GRS and ISO 9001.    #websummit #circularfashion

This month’s Textile Exchange Conference in Pasadena, Los Angeles, was an important event in the ongoing transformation of the textile and apparel industry towards sustainable materials and practices, and Recover™ was proud to take part.  The conference provided a crucial platform for collaboration and highlighted critical initiatives aimed at making the textile supply chain more transparent, resilient, and responsible.  As exhibitors and speakers, we had the opportunity to engage with many change makers in the industry. Here are some of our key takeaways from the event: 🔹 Launch of the Preferred Fiber and Materials Matrix (PFMM): The launch of the Preferred Fiber and Materials Matrix (PFMM) was a highlight. This tool will help brands and retailers assess fiber performance across various impact areas. At Recover™, we contributed with our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and positioning us as a low-impact fiber option. 🔹 Materials Matter Standard: Textile Exchange introduced a unified standard to streamline sustainability criteria and improve industry consistency: the Materials Matter Standard. It was first launched as a pilot in June 2024 and will continue to roll out until mid-2025. 🔹 Supply and Demand Challenges: Discussions focused on maintaining a consistent, affordable supply of sustainable materials. At Recover™, we ensure the accessibility of our high-quality recycled cotton fiber with production at scale across various hubs of production. Our team, including Alfredo Ferre Garcia, Debbie Perlman, Fernando Arguelles, and Ana Rodes, showcased a variety of fabric and garment samples made with our recycled cotton fiber, demonstrating its versatility. Our Head of Sustainability, Ana Rodes, also joined a panel on the subject "What Does Equitable Partnership Look Like in Practice?" “At Recover™, we believe that a good partnership builds transparent relationships that add value throughout the supply chain—from the producer to the end customer.” – Ana Rodes Read the recap of the event on our website: https://lnkd.in/dAzM7VY7 #Sustainability #TextileExchange #CircularEconomy #SustainableMaterials #RecoverFiber
