♻️ Our ambitious project has already reached its halfway point, and we could not be any more proud, happy, and full of ideas for the rest of our four-year lifespan. ✳️ A couple of days of good companionship, coffee breaks, talks, questions, comments, presentations… and good wishes for the near future in beautiful Stavanger (Norway). On 23 January, the Sustainable CRMs4EU cluster held its first meeting of 2025 📅 The new year started on an extremely positive note, with inspiring presentations and engaged discussions on future joint activities 🤝 The cluster counts by now 16 EU-funded projects, which are working on securing sustainable and resilient critical raw materials supply chains, driving research and innovation across exploration, mining, recycling, and material substitution. Whether it’s in the lab, the classroom, or the field, women and girls are making a lasting impact through their scientific contributions 👩🔬 Despite their significant impact, women remain underrepresented and often face unique challenges, particularly in STEM fields. The International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebrates their work and calls for action to break barriers preventing equal participation. To address this, the EU is funding R&I projects that focus on improving the recruitment, retention and promotion of women and girls in science. 🔹 STREAM IT aims to create inclusive educational tools that inspire and support girls in pursuing STEM careers. 🔹Road-STEAMer, The SEER and SENSE. are collaborating to develop a New European Roadmap for STEAM education, while boosting female participation in science.  🔹The goal of STEAMbrace is to establish a European-wide alliance on STEAM education for future European innovators, encouraging women’s participation.  These #HorizonEU projects are just one example of how the European Commission is working towards gender equality in science. The EU must reignite its innovation engine, now we have a plan. The Competitiveness Compass transforms the recommendations of the Draghi report into a roadmap. It sets a path for Europe to be the place where future technologies, services, and clean products are invented, manufactured, and put on the market, while being the first continent to become climate neutral. The plan also focuses on: - creating a habitat for young innovative start-ups, promoting industrial leadership in high growth sectors based on deep technologies and promoting the diffusion of technologies across established companies and SMEs. - establishing a 28th legal regime to make it possible for innovative companies to benefit from one single set of rules wherever they invest and operate in the Single Market.
