  • 🔊 Our Youth Environment & Climate Leadership Essay Competition is now open for submissions! 💻 Last year, we collaborated with GreenHubAfrica Group and a dynamic youth steering committee, to develop a specialized online training program for young Nigerians passionate about climate action. The training covered climate negotiations, green entrepreneurship, policy analysis, and climate finance, equipping youth with the knowledge and skills to contribute to sustainable solutions. Now, we are taking the next step! Our Youth Environment & Climate Leadership Essay Competition is an opportunity for young leaders to share their innovative ideas for tackling climate change. We invite young Nigerians aged 18–35 to submit written, video, or photo abstracts in English.  All entries will be reviewed, and the strongest abstracts will move forward.     💡 PURE can close the #EnergyAccess gap in Africa 👉 https://bit.ly/3w1SFsp Ethiopia has the 3rd largest energy access deficit in sub-Saharan Africa—1/2 of the population don't have access to reliable electricity. Promoting productive use of renewable energy (PURE) has a huge potential in closing the energy access gap while contributing to economic growth, food security and strengthening livelihoods & resilience of the population through job creation and income generation. On our high-level stakeholder consultation forum in Addis Ababa today, we're exploring the challenges and opportunities in scaling PURE solutions in Ethiopia. Some of the challenges raised include: ➡️ Regulation of quality ➡️ Affordability of solar technologies ➡️ Access to finance ➡️ Access to reliable data Stakeholders from the private sector, financing institutes, government organizations, and development partners are discussing solutions to these challenges and designing a roadmap to increase adoption of PURE. #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy

  • Expanding PURE technologies in Ethiopia ☀️ Today, we're hosting a high-level stakeholder consultative forum on scaling the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) in Ethiopia with Power for All and DanChurchAid. Under the theme "Advancing Business and Financing Models for PURE in Ethiopia – From Pilots to Scale," the forum brings together key players in Ethiopia’s PURE ecosystem to explore practical interventions for scaling investment and driving adoption of PURE technologies in the agricultural sector. Expected outcomes include: ✅ Identifying challenges and barriers hindering sustainable business and financing models for PURE, along with solutions to address them. ✅ Defining the data and information needed to design and implement scalable PURE investments. ✅ Reaching a consensus on policy and regulatory interventions to accelerate PURE deployment in Ethiopia. ✅ Strengthening partnerships through multi-stakeholder collaborations to tackle ecosystem barriers.
