🌿 Sustainable heating for Jelgava Palace! 🌿 😊 We’re proud to share the successful completion of Jelgava Palace’s connection to the city’s district heating system! The palace, home to the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU), now receives heat energy produced at our biomass CHP plant using sustainably sourced biomass. 🗨️ “This has been one of our most significant and technically complex projects this year in Jelgava,” notes Rihards Zakrepskis, Gren Project Manager. “We are proud to have completed the work on schedule, ensuring reliable heat delivery to the palace already for this heating season.” The key project milestones involved: ✔️ Horizontal drilling to install 752 m of heat pipeline beneath the Driksa River and Palace Canal; ✔️ Construction of key connection points in Pilssala and J. Čakstes Boulevard; ✔️ Reconstruction of two heat substations at Jelgava Palace. 🎥 Check out our short video showcasing the construction highlights from this summer! 🤝 Together, we’re taking bold steps towards sustainable energy and a greener future. #WeAreGren #Sustainability #DistrictHeating #RenewableEnergy

🌿 Our Country Manager for Latvia, Andris Vanags, recently participated in the TV discussion "Kas notiek Latvijā?" (What is happening in Latvia?) to discuss the country’s energy policy and climate goals, including reducing CO₂ emissions by 2030 and reaching climate neutrality by 2050. 🌍 ♻️ 📌 In his remarks, Andris Vanags emphasized the role of biomass as a cornerstone in Latvia’s heat energy transition: “In Latvia’s journey toward renewable energy under the Green Deal, biomass is a critical pillar supporting our economy in the heat energy sector. We need robust systems to ensure all sustainability principles are consistently upheld. The climate neutrality law, which has been delayed by several years, must be urgently adopted by the Saeima. A successful energy transition requires swift adaptation to new regulations. We need to prepare and have a clear view of how the new Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) and the expanded ETS 2 will be implemented in Latvia.” 🌿 Gren is committed to working closely with industry, government, and communities to actively shape Latvia's sustainable energy future. 🌿

🌿 Gren has completed the construction of over 3 km of new district heating pipelines in Raadi, Tartu Parish, #Estonia, with the support of the Estonian Environmental Investment Centre. 🔧🌱 This achievement now enables current and future residents of this area, as well as institutions, to connect to our convenient district heating network. 🏡 In the first phase, 12 buildings in the Pärna Avenue and Kaupmehe Street area have joined Gren’s network. Next in line: a new school and kindergarten! 🏫👶 The area’s planned new developments promise significant potential for further expansion, bringing reliable and sustainable heating to even more homes, public institutions, and businesses. 💚 The construction kicked off in June 2024 and wrapped up by October, with the first in-building heat substation opening in early November, followed by other buildings as well. A big shout-out to Giga Ehitus for their outstanding work and our partners at Tartu Parish for their support. 🤝👏 A special thank you to the project team: Kadri Uibopuu, Arnis Rikka, Jüri Moltsar, and Leho Lindmaa, for their dedication and strong performance! 🙌 #PositivelyDifferentEnergy #GrenEnergy #DistrictHeating #CommunityImpact #ActionsOnExcusesOff #Teamwork 💪🌍
