🔬 BlockchainGov's 2024 Year in Review 2024 marked a significant year of impact for our research group. We expanded our contributions to blockchain governance through the publication of our book "Blockchain Governance" with MIT Press, three comprehensive research reports including the Blockchain Governance Toolkit, and our successful "Cooking up Better Governance" workshop at EthCC co-organized with Project Liberty. We're also particularly proud of launching our Knowledge Base with over 400 curated resources and publishing six academic papers advancing governance research, available at this link: https://lnkd.in/dz78DfUZ See you in 2025!

BlockchainGov a republié ceci
🌟 Hey everyone! Earlier this month, I had the privilege of presenting at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law of Cambridge Faculty of Law. It was a great opportunity to get feedback from my legal and academic colleagues, dive into governance and dispute resolution in Web3 and discuss some of the legal challenges blockchain apps face. Now, I’m super excited to be speaking about the role of dispute resolution in Web3 ecosystems at Devcon in Bangkok in just two weeks! The event is full but there is still a chance to get on the waiting list! https://lu.ma/qmkot35v If you’re around the UK, let’s catch up! And for those heading to Devcon, can’t wait to see you in Thailand! 🇹🇭💫 #Web3 #Devcon #Blockchain #Kleros #DAO #Governance

Introducing Essential Concepts 🗝️ Essential Concepts is BlockchainGov’s living glossary on the key terms and frameworks shaping the governance of decentralized systems. Through the column, we aim to break down and clarify these critical ideas, helping communities and new scholars to navigate the complex models we’re researching. 🌑 Today we start with Alegality Alegality refers to phenomena or actions that exist beyond the boundaries of established legal frameworks. For example, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) initially operated outside the scope of current legal regulations. Decentralized technologies introduce ambiguities in governance and enforcement. They operate transnationally, bypassing traditional legal jurisdictions, and creating a gap between innovation and regulation. 👀 Read more about Alegality in decentralized systems: https://lnkd.in/dK4eSCiU
