♨️ Discover the first large-scale heat pump project of Boortmalt. This heat pump, located on our site in Athy, is one of the largest in the industry. It has reduced one of the malting plant's carbon footprint by 70%, equivalent to the yearly gas usage of 5,500 families. 🔄 But how does the heat pump work? The heat pump works circularly. Our malting process waste heat is captured and then sent to a heat pump system, which is fed by green electricity. Then, the heat pump produces high-temperature heat that is valorised in our process. This highly efficient in-house designed solution has been patented & allows us to produce decarbonised malt at our malting plant in Athy. 🇮🇪 Boortmalt Athy's plant has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 15 years to offtake all the volume generated by the 13,500 solar panels from the newly built Davidstown Solar Farm. This agreement is facilitated by Boortmalt's energy supplier Flogas Ireland. Best Quality at the Little Atlantique Brewery with the Flottweg Separator The Little Atlantique Brewery in Nantes, France uses the AC1700 separator from Flottweg for beer clarification. Find out more about beer production using Flottweg separators here: https://lnkd.in/duKDb8x The Little Atlantique Brewery produces around 7,000 hectoliters of beer, including wheat beer, a doppelbock beer, and a black lager beer. “We are also fortunate to have this beautiful 3,000 square meter brewpub, which is our brand showcase, where you can spend beautiful moments with friends and where a variety of people and emotions meet.” – Jérôme Pallier, co-founder of the Little Atlantique Brewery. Automatic flow control was important to the brewery to maintain the high quality of the beer and the reason for our investment in the Flottweg Separator AC1700. “We are really impressed by the recipe control, which is something that works extremely well. This enables us to provide recipes for almost any of our beers, so that the operator can select the recipe during the day and then leave the rest to the machine. This means that all our beers pass through the centrifuge between the end of fermentation, storage, and bottling.” – Arthur Pasquet, brewery manager of the Little Atlantique Brewery. Jérôme Pallier is also thrilled: “The decision to select Flottweg came about completely naturally for two reasons. Firstly, because we had the guarantee of good support, with a personal contact in France who was able to answer our questions quickly. But also in terms of customer service, which means all the maintenance. It was extremely important for us to have regular maintenance, the possibility to get replacement parts or repairs quickly.”

📢 #PLF2025 : Amendement Licence III adopté ! 🙏 Merci Violette Spillebout pour avoir porté cet amendement, si important pour le développement de nos #brasseries. 👏 Bravo à tous les brasseurs et brasseuses qui se sont mobilisés à nos côtés. 🤲 La quasi-totalité des #brasseries réalisent de la vente directe et contribuent ainsi à l’animation de leur #territoire. 🚫 Aucune disposition n’existait jusqu'à présent pour les brasseries qui commercialisent les bières de leur production, alors qu'il est obligatoire en France d'avoir une licence adaptée pour la vente directe sur place ou à emporter. 🇫🇷 En #France, c'est 2 millions de #touristes pour la filière brassicole chaque année : une dynamique qui pourra se poursuivre notamment grâce à cet amendement. 💡 Nous espérons que le #Senat conservera cette disposition !

Il y a un an, au Salon du Brasseur à Nancy, Vincent me présente Pierre Millet. L'homme est d'un abord chaleureux, mais je décèle sa lassitude. Il tient dans sa main un épais dossier relié par une spirale en plastique. 𝐔𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐫-𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮 𝐗𝐗𝐞̀𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐞̀𝐜𝐥𝐞. Imaginez un Dictionnaire Technique de la Brasserie et de la Malterie, fruit du travail d’une vie. La vie de Pierre Millet, ingénieur brasseur à l’École de Brasserie de Nancy. Promotion 1963. Toute une vie au service des étudiants en brasserie, et ses connaissances tomberaient dans l’oubli ? Il y a quelques jours, sur le stand BtoBeer au Salon du Brasseur à Nancy, Vincent et moi annonçons unir nos forces pour sauvegarder ce patrimoine technique et pour l’éditer. Nous n’avons rien à y gagner, et faisons cette démarche à titre personnel, pour sauver ce trésor. Car ce dictionnaire est bien plus qu’un livre.
