🇭🇺 During this year's Ceva #PurposeDay, our hungarian team embarked on a meaningful mission at local #animalshelters, embracing our purpose to support #animalwelfare and community #solidarity. Our colleagues dedicated their time to supporting two animal shelters, engaging in activities that improved the well-being of animals awaiting adoption. The generous contributions from our team also led to over 200 kg of animal food being donated, helping to meet the needs of shelter residents. Furthermore, to honor these efforts and keep the spirit alive, the team will install a fresco at the #CevaPhylaxiaCampus, showcasing photos capturing the special moments shared with the animals. 🇸🇪🇩🇰 Some weeks ago, Ceva’s teams in Sweden and Denmark took advantage of the Ceva #PurposeDay to come together and make a meaningful impact on animal welfare and biodiversity. In collaboration with Hundstallet, a historic dog shelter established in 1908, our employees contributed to enhancing the facilities to better support the dogs awaiting for adoption. Their efforts help provide a safer and more comfortable environment for these animals, encouraging future adoptions. In Denmark, our team returned to 4H Danmark farm in Aars to continue last year’s efforts, working on installing new fencing and a greenhouse. The team also updated educational materials to support the farm's mission and foster a stronger community connection. 🇮🇹 To support the #PurposeDay initiative within Ceva, our Italian team came together for an impressive day at Parco Regionale Campo Dei Fiori in Lombardy, a park dedicated to the protection of nature and wildlife. 🙌 More than 30 volunteers, with the support of volunteer nature wardens, improved habitats for wildlife, promoting healthier ecosystems in the park’s nature reserves. The volunteers also made and donated bird feeders to local schools, including Scuola dell'infanzia Materna Zamaroni Martinoli and Scuola primaria Pascoli Comerio, to promote environmental education among young people. 🐕 Another activity focused on raising awareness about responsible dog handling in the great outdoors. 🇧🇷 Ceva’s Brazil team joined forces at three workplaces to take meaningful actions for biodiversity and animal welfare, as part of our second Ceva #PurposeDay. On our Campinas and Paulinia sites, volunteers partnered with the Mata Genebra Foundation to improve the environment at the river’s source. The team collected waste, planted seedlings, and contributed to the butterfly sanctuary and sensory garden, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable practices. On our Juatuba site, employees renewed their partnership with Asas e Amigos, an NGO dedicated to rescuing and caring for wild and domestic animals. Their efforts focused on enhancing the living spaces for animals, showing their dedication to animal well-being. 🇫🇷 On the occasion of Ceva #PurposeDay, our team located in Montpon-Ménestérol brought their commitment to biodiversity and sustainability to life with an eco-pasturing initiative. In partnership with Ecomouton, a company specialized in eco-pasturing, 15 Landes sheeps became the newest members of the 4-hectare meadow surrounding our new European logistics platform. This initiative, part of our ongoing efforts to preserve biodiversity, promotes natural vegetation management while fostering awareness about sustainable practices. At the same time, at our #CevaLavalCampus, we welcomed nature-focused associations to engage and inspire our team about the vital role of animals and the environment. Local associations shared their stories and encouraged eco-friendly practices that align with the #OnePlanet pillar of our purpose. 🔈 We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new page dedicated to the Ceva Wildlife Research Fund! 🐨 The #CevaWildlifeResearchFund is an endowment fund aimed at financing applied research projects on wild animals to better control the risk of zoonoses, which is one of Ceva’s key commitments. Chaired by Dr. MARC PRIKAZSKY and managed by Dr. Pierre Marie BORNE, this fund stands out for its focus on wildlife health, a field often neglected due to its lack of economic viability. Registered as charity, the fund is a separate legal entity from Ceva, with a scientific committee of seven members responsible for selecting, evaluating, and monitoring projects. The main missions of the fund are: - to preserve biodiversity - to combat zoonoses - to promote better interactions between wildlife, farm animals, and humans. The projects focus on developing innovative solutions, such as vaccines, to limit the spread of interspecies diseases and reduce the risk of transmission to humans. The results of these projects are expected within three to five years. Join us on this adventure! 🙌 North America's team steps up for Ceva #PurposeDay 2024! 🇺🇸 In the United States, our colleagues at the #CevaLenexaCampus rolled up their sleeves to: 🌼 Plant pollinator-friendly vegetation to support bees, butterflies, and insects. 🚮 Clean up pathways, removing harmful objects to ensure a safer environment for pets and #wildlife. 🐾 Help volunteer at a local animal shelter, brightening the day for dogs awaiting adoption. 🇨🇦 In Canada, our Guelph & Gallant teams joined forces to tackle a pressing issue in Ontario: feral cat overpopulation. 🏠 Together, they built shelters to help feral cats survive the harsh Canadian winters. 🐈 Their efforts supported The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society's initiative to vaccinate, treat, and sterilize feral cats, stabilizing their population. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Simon Doherty, a visionary leader and advocate for #animalhealth and welfare whose influence will continue to inspire the global veterinary profession for many years to come. Simon’s contributions as President of the British Veterinary Association (BVA), Director of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association (WAVMA) and Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast are testament to his commitment to the advancement of veterinary science, One Health and sustainable food production. Earlier this year at the World Veterinary Association (WVA) Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, Simon was deservedly awarded with the #Veterinarian of the Year Award, and the prize for the #OneHealth category. As proud partners of the #WVAAwards, we were privileged to recognize his achievements, including his pioneering contributions to the One Health approach. We extend our deepest condolences to Simon’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His vision and passion will remain a guiding light in our collective efforts to improve animal and human health worldwide. Rest in peace, Simon.
