The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) is the EU agency responsible for protecting plant variety rights (PVR) in the EU. The CPVO offer breeders and innovators an EU-wide PVR for new creations. Since the creation of the CPVO in 1995, it has processed over 51,000 PVR applications. In 2014, CPVO applications experienced a 10% increase on its 2013 applications – which was also a record year. The CPVO is a self-financed decentralised body of the EU, based in Angers, France.

    🛎️This week, CPVO President Francesco Mattina formalized the🏠Headquarters Agreement between the Agency and the 🇫🇷 French Government. ✒️📄The signing ceremony was held at our headquarters in Angers, France.  CPVO is the first decentralized agency of the 🇪🇺 European Union to be placed in France, established in 1994, and has been operational since 1995, ensuring legal protection for farmers and breeders across Europe, promoting sustainability and scientific progress.  The agreement will ensure institutional stability, stronger regional connections and continuity in our collaboration with national and local authorities, French universities and non-profit organisations for the benefit of all EU citizens.  ➡️ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/d4hFVi9r #europeanunion #cpvo #plantvariety #intellectualpropert #headquarters #ceremony #euagency
