Technology is more than code. Entrepreneurship is more than business models. As a young developer, I thought brilliant technology sold itself. My first startup experience taught me otherwise: technology only becomes valuable when it solves real problems. At Echoes, the turning point was when I started designing solutions for real challenges faced by fleet managers. Instead of building complex algorithms, I asked: What do our customers really need? The answer was surprisingly simple: transparency, simplicity and time savings. Our universal data format was not created in a quiet room, but through hundreds of conversations with fleet operators. Every line of code became a solution to a practical problem. What I have learnt from this: 1️⃣ Technology is only the enabler, not the solution itself. Focus on the problem, not the technology. 2️⃣ Don't fall in love with your technical solution. Fall in love with solving your customers' problems. 3️⃣ The best innovations come from dialogue. Talk to your users, not about them. 4️⃣ Keep the balance: Being a brilliant developer is not enough - you also need to understand how business works. 5️⃣ Authenticity beats perfection. Show that there are people behind the technology. And this is the core of my experience: technology is never an end in itself. True success comes when it is combined with empathy, dialogue and entrepreneurial thinking. In the end, it's always about creating real added value - for the people who use your solutions.
