📰 In the field of artificial intelligence, explainability is important for building trust between humans and machines. AI systems are becoming more advanced, making it essential to understand their decision-making processes, especially in critical fields like healthcare, finance, and security. To achieve trustworthy AI, we must focus on transparency and ensuring that these systems align with human values and needs. Florence d'Alche-Buc, Professor at Télécom Paris, highlights the importance of these principles, especially as generative AI becomes more widespread. Explainability helps build trust in AI systems and ensures they align with human values while meeting new regulations like the #AIAct. 📰 In journalism, AI is transforming investigative practices without completely replacing traditional methods. While AI can assist by sorting, organizing, and linking data from vast sources, human expertise remains essential for in-depth analysis, interviews, and cross-referencing. To truly leverage AI in media, tools need to complement journalists' skills rather than attempt to replicate them. 👀 Read further insights from Ioana Manolescu, Research Director at Inria and Professor at École Polytechnique (Institut Polytechnique de Paris), on how AI can enhance investigative journalism without replacing the irreplaceable human touch. At our latest Data Boot Camp, our participating students had the chance to learn from Florian Arthur (Quantmetry - Part of Capgemini Invent) who shared his expertise on #data science consulting. Florian provided a practical look into turning data projects into real-world solutions, using examples like a voice recognition chatbot for RATP. He highlighted the need to go beyond #model accuracy, focusing on creating products that solve real problems, enhance user experience, and integrate seamlessly into existing operations. Key takeaways from his talk: 🔍 Focus on products, not just models: It’s about solving real problems through complete solutions like chatbots, web apps, and APIs. 🚀 Start small with an MVP: Launch with core features to validate user needs early and iterate based on feedback. 🤝 Engage users and IT from the start: Early alignment ensures smooth integration, while user feedback shapes better products. 📊 Prioritize data quality and monitoring: Adapting to evolving data and user behavior is crucial for long-term success. Thanks to Florian for delivering such valuable insights and to everyone who participated. Our second major data event of the year: the "Hi!ckathon" is coming soon! 👉 If you want to know more and register: https://lnkd.in/ecF49t_k #HiPARISCenter #LLM #DataScience #DataEvents
