I love stepping out from my usual recruitment setting. When Alexis Perrin and Romain Schneeweis invited me to present at the SRC (Spine Research Community), I knew this would be a very different challenge. The challenge: Break down blockchain and cryptocurrencies for spine surgeons in just 15 minutes. Think about it - blockchain combines: 🔷 Traditional finance 🔷 Technology 🔷 Mathematics 🔷 Cryptography But here's what fascinated me: 💎 These surgeons weren't just curious - they saw real potential: 💎 Using blockchain for secure clinical data management 💎 Running transparent clinical research 💎 NFT verification for research results 💎 Digital asset investment opportunities 💎 Smart patient consent management This experience taught me something powerful: True innovation happens when different worlds collide. The future of medical research isn't just about new surgical techniques - it's about revolutionizing how we handle data, research, and patient care. And sometimes, all it takes is 15 minutes to spark that transformation. 😉 🤞

🇪🇺EUROSPINE, the Spine Society of Europe, Vienna, 2024 Just back from the annual meeting, where we were able to present our latest study as part of the congress' "best of shows" (the 10 best congress presentations). Even if we didn't win, we're happy to share the results with you 🩻LDH: Endo vs open 🤕1067 patients After matching: 2 groups of 345 patients with the same characteristics 👨🏽⚕️Surgeons experience in the technique: 9 y in the open group, 1 y in the endoscopic group 📊No difference in functional results at 3 months. Fewer dural tears ( p=0.02 ) and no infection in the endoscopic group. ✅Conclusion: similar functional results right from the learning curve. Endoscopy for LDH is safe and efficient. 🏆Congratulations on Sleiman Haddad for the Best Communication Award! 🙌🏼 thanks to the presidents and future presidents for this great event!
