We were honored to have Marlee Dos Reis as host for the sixth session of our PowHer program, as she led an insightful discussion on the importance of authenticity in storytelling.  She spoke to the girls about embracing their true selves, what that means, and how to project it through their narratives. Ending the session with a hands-on activity where the girls visualized and celebrated their goals, their individual progress, key strengths, and everything that makes them unique!

Meet Stefano Manservisi, former Director General at the European Commission and former European Union Head of Delegation to Turkey. 🇪🇺 Prior to that, he was the Head of the Private Office of Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs European External Action Service. He has also headed the Private Offices of the Commission’s President Romano Prodi and Commissioner Mario Monti. We Belong’s vision is to help build a Europe where minority groups receive adequate support, empowerment, and resources. They aim to be the safe space for the people who often ask if they belong, because diversity without inclusion is exclusion. Until now, We Belong has focused on empowering women and gender minorities, but they are extending their work to hidden disability inclusion. From the We Belong team, Jana Degrott a social entrepreneur and local counsellor, and Nadia Alexandria Kendall, BSc LLM, an activist who combines her expertise in law and politics with a passion for justice joined Melissa Dalton to discuss how they are personally affected by some of the right they are fighting for and the plans they have for the future. https://lnkd.in/eijwii59.

4 years ago on this day right before a global pandemic Yasmine Ouirhrane started a group chat. With no studio, no producers and no authors we started a podcast series called We Belong — now at episode #45. We soon decided to grow it into a platform for DE&I and empowerment of younger generations. With that in my mind Jana Degrott got the idea for PowHer. While we’re working behind the scenes to bring more impactful projects to life, we’d like to thank everyone who’s been supporting us, everyone who joined our podcast, everyone who hasn’t missed and to everyone working with us. Together we’re creating a more inclusive future for Europe. Below are little run down of these past 4 years.
