It is also a leading region for pharmaceutical production. The region also has strong capabilities in the digital sector, enabling it to develop a health technology sector. In 2021, 40% of the projects it supported were in the health sector. Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, DCGI, CDSCO highlighted the importance of disseminating MedTech Mitra initiative’s progress among the public. He said “MedTech Mitra initiative has gained remarkable progress since its launch. This flagship initiative can introduce a paradigm shift in MedTech ecosystem from “volume to values of innovations”, to meet evolving healthcare needs. The initiative has a great potential towards making India a net exporter of medical devices and diagnostics.” Mission Director Atal Innovation Mission Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, highlighted the significance of the meeting during his address. He said, “The 20th MedTech Mitra TAC Meeting represents a crucial milestone in our ongoing effort to support MedTech innovators. By facilitating robust discussions and providing comprehensive guidance, we aim to drive impactful advancements in medical devices technology. Additionally, we are excited to unveil the 6th edition of Innovations for You, which celebrates the exceptional contributions of Indian innovators in Life Sciences and Biotechnology.” The meeting was followed by the launch of AIM’s 6th edition of ‘Innovations for You’ coffee table book. The book highlights 50 pioneering entrepreneurs incubated under the various Atal Incubation Centres spread across the country, who are driving change through their contributions in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. Within this sector, the publication delineates innovations into subcategories—Diagnostics, Therapeutics, Bioengineering, and Drug Discovery. The publication is intended to highlight the stories of these innovations and underscore the vast applications and impact for society at large. Intended to both guide and inspire upcoming startups, the book also underscores the pivotal role of AIM-supported incubators in fostering innovation and research within these domains. Cette levée de fonds, l'une des plus importantes de l'histoire de la biotech, a été menée par ARCH Venture Partners et Foresite Labs. D'autres investisseurs majeurs comme F-Prime, NEA, Sequoia Capital et Lux Capital ont également participé. Xaira, fondée il y a 6 mois seulement, est dirigée par Marc Tessier-Lavigne, ancien président de Stanford et ancien directeur scientifique de Genentech. La société souhaite exploiter les récentes avancées de l'IA générative pour révolutionner la découverte de médicaments, un domaine jusqu'ici très coûteux et chronophage. Les modèles d'IA développés par l'Université de Washington, notamment par le Pr. David Baker, cofondateur de Xaira, permettent de concevoir de nouvelles molécules en quelques semaines seulement, contre des années auparavant. Cela ouvre la voie à la création de nouveaux médicaments impossibles à développer sans ces progrès de l'IA. With a collaboration between the Mayo Clinic Innovation Exchange, Destination Medical Center (DMC) and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York, Innovation Norway and DNB // Back Bay are proud to arrange this accelerator. 🚀 ANNOUNCEMENT: TaSuVal strengthens its position in #HealthTech & #MedTech 🚀 💶 After I invested in a very innovative pharma company a few years ago and this year being involved in strategic discussions with key board members, I took the step to invest also in a MedTech company. ⁉ Why? 🧠The best way of learning fast is putting at risk your own money. At least at each investment I'm doing, I go first through a very deep due diligence. Looking at both experiences, I will continue to invest but, as I'm not a millionaire I'll prioritize the startups where I can be involved not just with money. 🧠In the last months, I sped up my learning in this area by going to many Swiss Health and MedTech conferences, congresses, exhibitions and training. 🤝 I'm extremely glad that after all these months of continuous efforts I managed to bring high-level experts to TaSuVal hub, from small companies in regulatory affairs and AI design to a mid-size Swiss company with cutting-edge expertise in clinical research and MedTech. For those who worked with me and know my passion for agriculture, you might wonder why I started to focus also on Health and MedTech. Long story short: ➡ Following mathematics-informatics high school, I planned to go to Polytechnic to medical devices section. A family drama put me in the situation after my bachelor's to manage my family business all alone and save it from bankruptcy. Is like this how I entered in contact with farmers and the agriculture world and I decided to bring a bigger impact in life in this area.... so finally I became an engineer in agriculture. ➡ Other family dramas in the last 10 years on the health side made me a witness to cancer, stroke, diabetes T1 high side effects, cardiopathies, and on my side other high problems + going through almost death 2 times.
