✨ Exail's expertise in quantum gravimetry in the spotlight this week in Lisbon! Camille Janvier, PhD gave the opening session talk of the European #Quantum Technology Conference (#EQTC) 2024 this morning. He introduced the recent demonstration of Exail's Differential Quantum Gravimeter (DQG) to detect archeological remains, in the framework of the #HorizonEurope project FIQUgS 🌱. 👉 The demonstration took place in the city center of Lisbon📌 some weeks ago. Exail's DQG is a unique instrument able to measure simultaneously the absolute values of both gravitational acceleration and its vertical gradient. Measuring the gravity gradient allows to detect small masses at short range. 🔎 The instrument successfully detected the presence of a Roman sewer, which confirmed its outdoor performance. ✅ Exail pioneered the development of industry-grade quantum sensors based on cold-atoms a decade ago and today, nearly 20 of Exail's Absolute Quantum Gravimeters (AQG) are in operation worldwide. With FIQUgS, Exail is now fine-tunning (with ten European technological partners https://lnkd.in/eGqPn4rG) its DQG as a new generation of field deployable quantum gravimeters for #geoscience and civil engineering (i.e accurate underground mapping). 💡The "quantum gravimetry for archeology" demonstration was supported by Centro de Arqueologia de Lisboa (António Marques) and PQI – Portuguese Quantum Institute (Yasser Omar) | Gravity data inversion by GReD | Quantum Flagship #EQTC2024
