#PressRelease 🗞 Have you heard about the recent successful very high-speed (10 Gbps) optical downlink and uplink tests between the TELEO geostationary in-orbit demonstrator 🛰️ and ground stations📡? #lasercom 💡 Did you know that TELEO, developed by Airbus Defence and Space with CNES, features a #laser terminal equipped with an optical transceiver assembled and space-qualified by Exail (including TRL9 Low Noise Optical Amplifier based on rad-hard fibers, lithium-niobate modulators, RF amplifier)? This milestone demonstrates Exail’s capability to develop complex #space optical communication projects. 🗨️ “The success of TELEO paves the way for future operational systems, including high contrast electro-optical modulators for high-speed #telecommunication and #quantum communication (#QKD) system in space.” Herve Gouraud, photonics commercial director at Exail - Photonics ✅ Exail's TLR9 optical components are perfectly adapted to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) projects, within standardized Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product lines. ✅ Exail also contributed to the optical ground stations involved in the TELEO demonstration, providing fiber-based amplifiers (LNOA) and transceiver terminals for reception and transmission front-end channels (ModBox OGS). ✅ Exail’s portfolio now counts two new cutting-edge solutions, based on free-space micro-optical assemblies: TRL6 Multiplexer/Demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX), and free-space optical coherent detectors for both terrestrial and space applications (TRL9). 📢 Exail awarded Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory contract to deliver front-end laser seeders for the Jupiter Laser Facility (JLF). #PressRelease 🗞 👉 This is the 60th ModBox Front-End sub-nanosecond pulse generation system to be delivered by Exail to enhance the temporal pulse shaping performance of high-energy #laser facilities worldwide. 🗨️ “Exail’s ModBox-FE is a crucial seeder to optimize the performance of a high-energy laser facility to ensure the generation of repeatable and reliable Near-Infra-Red optical pulses.” said Yves Deiss, NORAM Photonics Sales Director at Exail. 💡 The Jupiter Laser Facility is a mid-scale laser facility located at LLNL and part of LaserNetUS, a consortium of high-power laser facilities around North America.
