🌬️ A new milestone in clean energy for South Korea! 🇰🇷 TotalEnergies would like to introduce Parang, our first directly-built renewable project in the Asia–Pacific (APAC) region! 📍 Located on South Korea’s east coast, Parang’s three mighty turbines will generate 50 GWh annually, enough to power 35,000 people. This is an exciting step towards TotalEnergies’ commitment to renewable growth in Asia-Pacific, where renewable energy could power up to 50% of the region’s energy mix by 2030. 🤝 Local Impact, Strong Partnerships We’re proud to work alongside the Yeongnam Nam-ssi Goejeonggong-pa clan, who have called this land home since the 1600s. Together, we’ve created over 100 local jobs, and we’re offering the community an opportunity to invest directly in this project. 💡 A Brighter Future, Built Together Through a 20-year agreement, Parang will supply Renewable Energy Certificates to KOMIPO, supporting South Korea’s decarbonization goals while preserving the cultural heritage of Yeong-Deok county. 🔍 Did you know that 11% of global CO2 emissions come from metallurgy activities like steel and aluminum production? ⚙️ These industries face a big challenge: producing essential metals for construction, automotive, infrastructure, and renewable energy while aiming for a 30% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. 🎯 To support these goals, Norsk Hydro, the world’s leading aluminum producer, has partnered with TotalEnergies on two solar projects in the Netherlands: 🌞 The first project in Drunen is already operational, generating 7.5 GWh of electricity and reducing CO2 emissions over the next 15 years. ⚡ A new contract has been signed for Norsk Hydro’s site in Hoogezand, where 1,532 solar panels will be installed. This 15-year project will deliver 0.805 GWh annually—about 20% of the site’s energy needs—and reduce emissions over the contract period. 💡 Quick-to-implement on-site solar solutions like these offer substantial savings with zero investment required from property owners. Today, TotalEnergies is one of the largest developers of on-site solar electricity, with over 1.5 GW of PPAs and 600 B2B clients worldwide. 🌍🔋
