“As I Come Back” is the third track on Busta Rhymes 5th studio album, Genesis. It features a heavy interpolation of Busta’s own verse on A Tribe Called Quest’s classic posse cut, “Scenario”.

This high energy track, produced by The Neptunes, features a rather unusual flow from Busta, with him growling at the end of almost every bar. This was not the only Neptunes produced song from Genesis, with them also lending to the single, “What It Is” featuring Kelis.

This song was originally released as a snippet at the beginning of the “Break Ya Neck” music video, but was eventually officially released in it’s entirety as a single on November 20th, 2001, a week before the albums full release.

The single release managed to peak and No. 91 on the US R&B charts, and at No. 7 on the US Rap charts. It was the third and final single to be released for Genesis, after the aforementioned songs “What It Is” and “Break Ya Neck”, although Busta later went on to promote the non-album remix, “Pass The Courvoisier Part II” featuring P. Diddy and Pharrell, for this album as well.
