The tracklist follows the dream-like, but terrifying story of Mel’s alter-ego, Cry Baby, a girl growing from a broken family and learning to navigate the world. Accompanied by Tim Burton-esque music videos and a picture book illustrated by Chloe Tersigni, the album explores themes as plastic surgery, sexual assault, and the dark sides of family and romantic relationships.
