Our journey began with a bold idea: To amplify the voices of ordinary Africans. Over the past 25 years, that idea has flourished into a trusted source of reliable data on African experiences, democracy, governance, and quality of life. As we draw the curtain on our 25th anniversary celebrations, this 30-minute documentary explores the inspiration behind our mission, the challenges we’ve overcome, the milestones we’ve achieved, and the impact we’ve made across the continent. #AfrobarometerAt25 #WeAreAfrobarometer #VoicesAfrica
About us
Afrobarometer is a pan-African, non-partisan research network that conducts public attitude surveys on democracy, governance, economic conditions, and related issues in more than 35 countries in Africa. It is a network of researchers who do scientific citizen-attitude surveys aimed at ensuring that people's views inform the decisions of policy-makers, academics, activists and others. The project was launched in 1999 by three African professors, and now covers 35 countries. The network is managed by the Center for Democratic Development in Ghana, the Institute for Development studies at the University of Nairobi, Institute for Justice and Reconciliation.
