Today, the workshop in Tamale successfully trained journalists from the five northern regions. Participants learned about the Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition, cybersecurity strategies, and verification tools to combat misinformation in Ghana's 2024 election. CSA representative charges participants to be wary of techniques used in spreading mis/disinformation: fake news, deepfakes, bots and automated systems, satire or parody misuse, false connections, misrepresentation of visuals, exaggeration, imposter content (false attribution), impersonations, and fake accounts.
