In the wake of Disney’s wave of content deletion on Disney+ in the last few years, physical releases of the platform’s original shows are more important than ever. Especially so when it’s physical releases of the far and away best piece of media to come out of the platform’s entire existence.
That is, of course, Andor, which will finally receive the lavish treatment it deserves when it releases on 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 30. It’s not the only Disney+ show to receive a release—the second wave after The Mandalorian season one and two, Loki, and Wandavision all received physical releases last year—with fellow Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as Marvel shows Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Moon Knight, also receiving steelbook drops on the same day.
Interesting to note is also how Disney describes each of these series. Obi-Wan Kenobi is explicitly described as “The Complete Series,” while Andor, Falcon, and Moon Knight are all “The Complete First Season.” Obviously we know there is more Andor on the way, but there have long been rumors that Moon Knight could return for another season, as well as similar hopes that there might be more Obi-Wan at some point too. The hopes for the latter seem to have been dashed, but it’s still interesting wording nonetheless.
Click through to see the full details for each release—each blessedly receiving a swathe of bonus behind-the-scenes featurettes, a particular boon for Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they never received the Disney Gallery treatment given to Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett. All four steelbooks will be available to pre-order from next week, on March 12.
