Black Panther 3
The latest edition of The InSneider newsletter alleges that Marvel may recast T’Challa for Black Panther 3.
In fact, I heard that an actor was actually offered the role [of T’Challa] this past fall, a couple of months after [Robert Downey Jr.’s] big reveal at Comic-Con, but they turned it down, not wanting to jeopardize their career momentum by stepping into Boseman’s gigantic shoes, which may be too big to fill, even for Hollywood’s most talented Black actors.
Escape From New York
In conversation with Comic Book, Leigh Whannell confirmed his planned Escape from New York remake is now longer happening.
It’s so funny, with the movie industry, projects can die for various reasons. It can be something as simple as, ‘Oh, we lost the rights,’ it could be something like I’m just not gelling with the producers […]
I feel like the projects that do come to life are almost accidents. Like, ‘Oh, this one actually happened.’ So I think, for now, Escape from New York, if it came back around, I’d think about it, but for now, it’s not happening.
Shadow of the Colossus
Appearing as a guest on Radio Tu (via Comic Book) Andy Muschietti confirmed a script exists for his Shadow of the Colossus movie, but he’s still determining a budget with Sony.
I’m not a big gamer, but Shadow of the Colossus seems to me a masterpiece and I played it several times. The movie has been in development for 10 years and now the possibility of making it opens up.
I love that movie, there’s a script that I really like, but there are factors that have to do not with your hobby and desire to make it, but with how popular an intellectual property like this is.
