There’s a $100 Verizon Unlimited Plan For Some Markets

Apparently testing the feasibility of matching Sprint’s Simply Everything plan, Verizon is offering a $70 Nationwide Talk & Text plan in some San Diego and Los Angeles retail stores. That’s a $20 discount from current rates, and signals if not a looming price war then definitely a price skirmish.

Of course, even if the new plan does get wider traction, the all-in price of $100 that assumes that Verizon data plan rates hold steady at $30. Which, of course, they most certainly won’t. Still, if you’re in SoCal and looking for a new phone contract, it might not be a bad idea to stop by a Verizon store to get while the getting’s good. [Engadget]
