Windows Phone 7 now has just over 5,000 titles (5,149 to be exact) in their 2 month old marketplace. That’s the same number as Palm’s 1.5 year old webOS store.
The number of apps in the Windows Phone 7 marketplace quickly jumped to the 5k mark from 3,000 at the end of November and 4,000 a week prior. It’s still nowhere near the more established 300,000 and 100,000 apps of the iOS and Android markets, respectively, but it’s growing at a much faster rate in our current smartphone-centric environment.
