🌍 Greetings from Hamburg! 🌍 We're thrilled to be at the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) premises, diving into groundbreaking discussions for the VALORADA EU project! 🚀 #VALORADA aligns with the EU's #Adaptation Mission, striving to transform 150 European regions into sustainability champions by 2030! 💪 In the spotlight today, our lab presented some exciting work on #soil #erosion in Central Greece, while our friends at Terra Spatium SA tackled coastal erosion. 🌊 We've been busy developing detailed maps using the RUSLE equation for fire-affected areas in Northern Evia, covering both croplands and woodlands. By testing under different future climate scenarios, we can project the impact of soil erosion in these areas. Our results further highlight that we have got to protect our soils and environment – because a resilient planet starts from the ground up! 🌿🛡️ Stay tuned and follow the VALORADA EU project for more updates. Exciting News 📢📢📢 ⚓ We proudly announce our participation in E=MCM, a 68 MEUR project funded by EDF2023 and under coordination of DCNS. The project designs, prototypes and demonstrates a single system-of-systems with scalable unmanned autonomous toolboxes and intelligent platforms and decision-support tools for mine-counter measures (MCM), to address the threats of drifting, tethered and buried mines. #terraspatium #EC #DGdefis #edf #europeandefencefund #projects #collaboration #minewarfare

🔦Project in the spotlight: 🚢 Over the past years (2021-2023), VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute contributed substantially to the EU-funded MIRICLE project. The project's objective was to achieve a European & sovereign capacity in future mine warefare and to pave the way to the next generation of mine countermeasure solutions. The work was led by the NAVAL GROUP Belgium and executed by a consortium of 18 partners in 10 EU countries.
