A significant milestone for Lee Garden Eight – the joint venture between Hysan Development Company Limited and Chinachem Group signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with HKAPA EXCEL Official. This partnership engages HKAPA EXCEL to operate the 20,000 sq. ft. Performing Arts and Cultural Facilities at Lee Garden Eight, in line with a professional, internationally recognised curatorial standard. Our strategic partnership aims to blend arts into community and commercial spaces, to promote diversified development of arts and culture and enhance the cultural vitality of the Lee Gardens Area. This partnership also acts in alignment with the Government's 'Blueprint for Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Development'. The Performing Arts and Cultural Facilities at Lee Garden Eight will house a 150-seat black-box theatre, multifunctional exhibition spaces, open areas, café and more. These spaces are designed to provide a platform for local and international artists and arts groups to create, collaborate and showcase their talent. After a 6-year wait, the award-winning Hong Kong musical "Sing Out" returns to the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from August 23-25, 2024, for four performances. HKAPA EXCEL is proud to organise and produce this original musical, with the support of our Strategic Partner & Sponsor, Lee Hysan Foundation, and many more supporting partners and sponsors, including Hysan Development Company Limited, EG Fashion, Hung Fook Tong Holdings Limited, Café de Coral Holdings Limited 大家樂集團, Sino Group, and Link REIT. "Sing Out" is unique and meaningful for both arts development and character education in HK, with highlights as follows: 1) Top-Notch Production Team: Led by esteemed Hong Kong arts professionals, "Sing Out" won six awards at the 27th Hong Kong Drama Awards, including Best Production. It was a privilege to meet the team from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts HKAPA and HKAPA EXCEL Official last week. Many thanks to Professor Gillian Choa, the Director of HKAPA, and her colleagues for the warm welcome. It was exciting to learn about HKAPA's on-going mission to nurture a new generation of performing artists and cultural leaders with global impact, and to discuss collaboration with The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. It was also great to reconnect with Penny Jin, introduced to LIPA through the Liverpool China Partnership Thank you also to the amazing students who attended our Dance and Musical Theatre workshop and to the performing arts and guidance staff I met during my school visits at: Renaissance College Hong Kong Creative Secondary School 啓思中學 ESF Sha Tin College Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School ESF West Island School Chinese International School | 漢基國際學校 My first visit to Hong Kong and it will certainly be one to remember! EXCEL is a non-profit making subsidiary of HKAPA. PROGRAMME MANAGER Report to the General Manager, the Programme Manager will supervise and collaborate with the Programme team members to ensure effective planning, budgeting, marketing, and delivery of EXCEL's programmes. The Programme Manager will also manage and oversee the accredited programmes while adhering to standard operating procedures, rules and regulations, and maintaining good corporate governance. Additionally, the Programme Manager will initiate new programme development through market analysis and research, budget planning, and proposal drafting. The ideal candidate should possess leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead a small programme team. They should also maintain and foster strategic partnerships with external institutions, government departments, and all stakeholders, including tutors and students. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Hold a university degree in business, arts management, or a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of programme management experience. Possess strong organisational skills, interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various parties. Demonstrate proficiency in time management and multitasking to meet deadlines. Have a good command of project management tools and database management skills. Exhibit the ability to guide and coach team members and staff. Possess knowledge of performing arts and have experience in performance production is an advantage. Exhibit excellent written and spoken English and Chinese skills, with proficiency in Mandarin. Terms of Appointment: The appointment will be on a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance. The salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
