The Court of Final Appeal handed down a judgment near the end of 2024, in favour of same-sex couples in relation to their public housing and inheritance rights. With the continuous effort and support of various parties, it marks the victory for same-sex couples in Hong Kong. The defendant was involved in a serious traffic accident and was charged with dangerous driving causing death – highlighting that he expressed deep remorse for causing the death of his friend, as well as his own serious injury from the accident.
