Last week, we had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Rise Wise Foundation and LoveXpress Foundation 愛・傳遞 for a heartwarming volunteering activity that promoted love and inclusion through therapy dogs. Our dedicated volunteers teamed up with SEN children to play games and complete simple missions alongside these adorable therapy dogs. This experience allowed our volunteers to bond with the children and gain valuable insights into interacting with SEN kids and understanding the challenges they and their parents face daily. It was inspiring to witness the magic of dogs fostering social inclusion and joy in every interaction. A huge thank you to our partners and volunteers for making this event a success! Ready, Set… Rosewood! Last Friday, we celebrated the highly anticipated Rosewood Day at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)’s the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM). This annual event brought together 13 teams competing under the theme: Shaping the Digital Future: Marketing Strategies for Mainland China 2025. We extend our warmest congratulations to the winning team: Shuwen Tan, Kehan Wang, Yunhe Li, and their faculty advisor, Prof. Michael Lin, on their outstanding achievement. The event continued with an engaging panel discussion featuring our senior executives: Mr. Hugo Montanari (Managing Director), Ms. Olena Pavlyshyn (Director of Rooms), and Mr. Angus Pitkethley (Director of Sales and Marketing). This interactive session inspired and enlightened SHTM students, guiding them toward becoming exceptional hoteliers. To conclude Rosewood Day, our leaders participated in a fireside chat with the students, fostering meaningful connections and sharing invaluable experiences with the future talents of the industry. Earlier this week, we were thrilled to have our dedicated volunteers visit Inherited Sports Co., Limited, a social enterprise empowering ethnic minorities to turn their passion for sports into fulfilling careers. We began with an insightful session where young people shared the challenges faced by ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, deepening our understanding of the importance of inclusion. Following the discussion, we had a blast engaging in the emerging sport of Mölkky in teams, strengthening connections and promoting camaraderie among diverse backgrounds. We truly value these interactions and are eager to continue supporting ethnic communities. Happy New Year! We are excited to announce the successful completion of the BluUp Upskilling Programme's second cohort last year. Following the success of our inaugural cohort at our restaurant with purpose BluHouse, we expanded the programme to our Housekeeping and Wellness teams. We proudly celebrate the graduation of 11 exceptional trainees from these teams, bringing the total to 17 graduates across both cohorts. The graduation ceremony was a heartfelt occasion, attended by representatives from our NGO partner LoveXpress Foundation 愛・傳遞, training institutions, our dedicated associates, and their proud parents, who witnessed the remarkable achievements of our trainees. It was inspiring to hear their appreciation for the opportunities provided and how the programme will enhance their future careers by equipping them with essential skills. It’s that time of year again—BluRun is back! Our annual charity team relay unites us for a meaningful cause, and we are thrilled to once again co-host with RUN Hong Kong, supporting their vital work for vulnerable refugees. We welcomed 15 enthusiastic teams from our hotel, the Rosewood Hotel Group Hong Kong corporate office, and our sister property, New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, all dressed in festive Christmas attire. The teams gave it their all, running hard to earn tokens and compete for the win while actively raising funds for the event. Together, we donated over HKD 110,000 to support RUN Hong Kong's important work. We are also proud to see our associates team up with our opportunity hires in the race, including SEN youth and refugees, exemplifying true social inclusion within our hotel. Back in July, we had the opportunity to visit the elderly in Peng Chau, accompanied by SEN students from our strategic NGO partner, LoveXpress Foundation 愛・傳遞. During these visits, we realised there was so much more we could do to support this vulnerable community, including essential home repairs and cleaning. Last week, our enthusiastic volunteers and SEN students returned, eager to provide even greater assistance. Our engineering team took the initiative to assess the repair needs in advance, bringing the necessary tools and expertise to enhance their living conditions. Meanwhile, other volunteers dedicated their time to cleaning and creating cherished moments of connection with the residents. It was a truly rewarding day as we witnessed the joy on the elderly's faces upon our return and felt the deep commitment of our associates to make a real difference. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated.
