🌅 Breaking News: We’re Almost There! As part of our recent campaign against fast fashion, Vestiaire Collective took the initiative to join forces with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and 26 other organizations to send an open letter to the French Sénat asking them to resume their work on the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill. This bill which was unanimously approved by the National French Assembly in March 2024 notably plans to ban fast fashion advertising for both brands and influencers. We are thrilled to share that the French Senate answered and committed to restart discussions on the bill in early 2025. This bill represents a pivotal step in building a more sustainable fashion industry, and we are proud to have played a role in moving it forward. Over the past decade, fast fashion brands have used influencer marketing to supercharge a culture of overconsumption, pushing constant newness and low-cost trends that have fueled an unprecedented environmental crisis. But the tide is turning… Vestiaire Collective is thrilled to launch its new campaign confronting one of fast fashion’s most powerful marketing tactics: influence. Together with influencers, we’re working to reshape the narrative, harnessing their voices to champion conscious consumption, circularity, and sustainability. This campaign isn’t just about fighting overconsumption; it’s about inspiring a new mindset and empowering a generation to make mindful, lasting choices. 📱We’re teaming up with 5 influencers who’ll take their 2M+ followers on a six-month educational journey to break free from fast fashion’s grip. 📖The program include masterclasses with industry experts, an in-person experience at a landfill, and an exclusive educational video narrated by sustainable advocate Matteo Ward from WRÅD. 🔊Along with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and 26 of their members, Vestiaire Collective is also calling on the French Senate to resume their work on the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill, currently awaiting final review. “With this campaign, Vestiaire Collective is taking bold steps to address one of the largest drivers of fast fashion: influencers. This initiative stands as part of Vestiaire Collective’s broader mission to change the way people consume fashion and push for industry-wide reform beyond any legislative requirements. We truly believe that with the right tools, influencers can become leaders of change.” - Dounia Wone, Chief Impact Officer of Vestiaire Collective

Did you know that second-hand fashion items are taxed twice? 🤯 We are thrilled to announce that as of last July, Vestiaire Collective has officially joined ACT (American Circular Textiles), a US-based coalition with over 30 like-minded leading fashion and textile organizations. As we celebrated Second-Hand Day on August 25th, we are spotlighting a crucial issue: the double taxation of second-hand apparel and alterations in many U.S. states. This practice harms affordability and the potential growth of circular and sustainable fashion. "We need fair tax policies to unlock the full potential of the fashion resale market. This campaign aligns with our advocacy in Europe for VAT policies that support circular business models."- Samina Virk, CEO, North America Vestiaire Collective At Vestiaire Collective, our mission remains to transform the fashion industry for a more sustainable future. This is why we support ACT’s Sales and Use Tax Exemption Campaign, which advocates for tax exemptions on second-hand items and alterations. Spread the word and share this post. Our voice matters! 💥 #ThinkFirstBuySecond #SecondHandDay #CircularFashion #SustainableFashion

🌍 We've already used up a year's worth of Earth's resources! This year, August 1st marks Earth Overshoot Day 2024, the date when the global demand for ecological resources and services exceeds what the Earth can regenerate within the same year. Since 2009, Vestiaire Collective has offered an alternative to overproduction, overconsumption and the wasteful practices of the fashion industry. This year, we participated in the Climate Dividends initiative , co-founded by ADEME, Mirova, SWEEP, Team for the Planet, 2050, chaired by Brune Poirson. The initiative aims to incentivize companies and shareholders to go beyond emissions reduction and to contribute positively to addressing climate issues through their activities, by avoiding carbon emissions. Climate Dividends provide us with a standardized and reliable indicator corresponding to the positive climate contribution of our activity (measured by avoided GHG emissions), complementary to our carbon footprint and our emission reduction strategy. 🌱As of July 15th 2024, we will be issuing 62k climate dividends for FY23 (as 1 tCO2e avoided = 1 Climate Dividend) and distributing them to our shareholders. ♻️Our total carbon footprint for 2023 amounts to 18,922 tCO2e. 🏭 We’re proud to say that in 2023, for the first time we’ve managed to reduce not only our carbon intensity, but also our absolute emissions by 6% compared to 2022. #VestiaireCollective #ClimateDividend #Sustainability #Impact
