The "Did I Ever Tell You" storytelling initiative aims to collect the thoughts and memories of older individuals in Health Service Executive healthcare settings across the counties of Kildare, Offaly, and Westmeath through a variety of creative engagements and artistic mediums. Through this project, artists in each county will collaborate with residents of nursing homes and patients in hospitals through December 2025, using creative arts to enhance wellbeing, support mental health, and promote positive aging. Selected stories, reflections and creative content from each county will be published in a collective book, celebrating older voices and the impact of arts in these health settings. The project is supported by Creative Ireland under the Creative Health & Wellbeing in the Community Scheme, and is a collaborative effort involving the three counties with contributions from local Age Friendly Ireland, Healthy Ireland Local Government and HSE teams. Government Administration
Creative Ireland is an all-of-government programme that connects people, creativity and wellbeing.
About us
Creative Ireland connects people, creativity and wellbeing. It is an all-of-government culture and wellbeing programme that inspires and transforms people, places and communities through creativity. We are committed to the vision that every person in Ireland should have the opportunity to realise their full creative potential. Established in 2017, Creative Ireland was born out of Ireland 2016, the hugely successful state initiative to mark the hundredth anniversary of the Easter Rising. The Programme drew inspiration from the extraordinary public response to the Centenary and the thousands of largely culture-based events exploring issues of identity, community, culture, heritage and citizenship. Through partnerships with local and national government, cultural and enterprise agencies and local enterprise, we create pathways and opportunities for people and communities to unlock their creative potential. We believe in the power and creative potential of people, organisations and government departments working together, sharing expertise, to catalyse ideas and action. Through our focus and co-ordination, we will forge an eco-system of creativity. The Programme is built around key themes: Creative Youth, Creative Communities, Creative Health and Wellbeing, Creative Climate Action and Sustainability and Creative Industries.

As I continue to be surprised & inspired by the energy and innovation in the West of Ireland, it's so exciting to see the momentum behind our design community here. Last month, I was able to interview & showcase four of our brightest stars for the Business Post as part of our work with Institute of Designers in Ireland. We're aiming to shine a light on the growing industry in here and that's about uncovering not just their businesses- but the stories behind them. What did it take to move here, build careers, establish studios & grow clients? Can you re-design wind turbines from a convent in Spanish Point? Or lead innovation in food systems from Kinvara? Find out below :-) Check out the full article here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eTVDb8pc Simon Dennehy & Perch Design - Spanish Point, Clare. Lara Hanlon from Portion Collaborative- Kinvara, Galway. This #BlackFriday, we’re turning down the noise. Good Life 2030 Ireland’s “Less Buying, More Being” invites people to pause and reconnect— a meaningful alternative to overconsumption. Brought to life by 40+ individuals, 10 competing agencies, and Creative Ireland, this campaign proves what can be achieved when we work together with a shared vision. With most Black Friday purchases ending in landfill, we’re proud to be part of a movement championing connection over consumption. Explore the campaign: goodlife2030.earth.
Today we’re proud to champion an alternative message of connection over consumption, as part of our industry-first nationwide alternative #BlackFriday campaign. “Less Buying, More Being” is a calming and compelling invitation to pause and connect, in stark contrast to the noise and sales pitches driving overconsumption. This work is the result of over 40 individuals and 10 agencies coming together to collaborate for climate action. The messages are inspired by research on what Irish people dream of for their future. With 80% of Black Friday purchases ending up in landfill, and overconsumption fuelling our climate emergency, this campaign offers something different. It encourages people to embrace the real good life – more connection to self, to others and to nature. The campaign signifies a timely step forward for the advertising industry in embracing its responsibility to work together and generate climate and nature communications at scale. It was amazing to collaborate on this work with Bonfire, Mediaworks, part of Core, Droga5, Folk VML, GroupM, Havas, Publicis Dublin, The Public House, THINKHOUSE, TBWA\Worldwide, Verve The Live Agency | B Corp and Purpose Disruptors. Big thanks to Creative Ireland for supporting the campaign! Let’s advertise a better life. Overwhelmed by Black Friday ads already? Well, we may have the perfect antidote. This year, the Irish advertising industry and Purpose Disruptors have collaborated on something different—an inspiring campaign promoting visions of well-being focused on connection rather than consumption. ✨ “Less Buying, More Being." ✨ “Less Fast Pace, More Open Space.” ✨ "Less Shopping Sprees, More Native Trees." ✨ “Less Office Blues, More Scenic Views.” These messages are captured in nature to offer people moments of calm, swapping sales pitches for a chance to pause, reflect and reconnect. They'll reach a massive 80% of the Irish population in the first-ever country-wide alternative Black Friday campaign, as part of our Good Life 2030 Ireland project. Since 2021, we've been reshaping the narrative of what it means to live a good life through campaigns, research and even an exhibition. This latest campaign serves as a counterpoint to the consumption-driven culture of Black Friday, which saw global sales of $70.9 billion in 2023 (up 8% YoY). Alarmingly, 80% of these goods are predicted to end up in landfills (see the source in comments). Over 40 individuals and 10 leading agencies united to collaborate on this work, creating a unifying call to action: Let’s advertise a better life. We think it offers a hopeful glimpse into the future of advertising. Find out more and submit your own vision for the future at goodlife2030.earth. Read all about it in LBBonline - Little Black Book here: https://lnkd.in/gt-vgBBt ***** 👏 to everyone involved, it's been an ENORMOUS collaboration between Purpose Disruptors, THINKHOUSE, Creative Ireland, Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. The Irish ad industry: Bonfire, Core, Droga5, Folk VML, Havas Media Ireland, Publicis Dublin, The Public House, THINKHOUSE, Bolt! by TBWA\Ireland and Verve / Showrunner, GroupM Ireland Laura Costello, Lisa Merrick-Lawless, Jane McDaid, Ceri Jones, Aimee Brewerton, David Coffey, Emma Kate Butler, Paula Roldán, Kathrin Baumbach, Emma O'Doherty, Gary Boylan, Kerrie Patten, Derwin Myers, Mikey Fleming, Róisín Jordan, Shane Kenna, Ivona Poljak, Clare O'Reilly... plus many more! #CreativeClimateAction #GoodLife2030Ireland #Sustainability #CreativeIreland

Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate Exhibition was launched last night at the NCAD Gallery, Dublin. One of the successful Creative Climate Action projects and part of the #SharedIsland initiative, Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is an urgent call for chartered board members / directors and design students to come together to change the climate crisis in a meaningful way. The exhibition serves as a platform for exploring how collective action, intergenerational and across the shared island, can drive this meaningful change. Students from National College of Art & Design and IADT Dún Laoghaire together with Chartered Directors used empathy-driven exercises to share diverse perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of complex climate-related issues and the underlying challenges that prevent behavioral change. Go see the exhibition while it runs from today until December 6th at NCAD Gallery, Thomas Street from 11am to 6pm daily, Monday to Friday. A digital version of the exhibition is also available on the Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate website: https://lnkd.in/eetF6ExC Creative Futures Academy Institute of Directors Ireland and the IoD Northern Ireland Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications Seoladh Taispeántas Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate aréir ag an National College of Art & Design Baile Átha Cliath.
