Another busy week across daa! 🌟

    Group CEO at daa plc

Home after a busy week. Visited our retail operations in Abu Dhabi and Bahrian which both looked great and are trading well. Met with our airport management teams in Riyadh and Jeddah, who are helping their airports ramp up as Saudi Arabia aims to 3x its passenger numbers in the next six years. Teams at home did great with expected snow in Dublin and very real snow in Cork. And now we are preparing for the arrival of Storm Bert. It never ends for airport ops and a big thank you to the teams that keep planes and passengers moving, whatever the weather, at both airports. Dublin Airport and Cork Airport have their Christmas decorations up. Get ready for the most festive and fun December at both airports, with some special events to surprise and delight passengers...

At Cork and Dublin airports, we lift more than just passengers. In Cork Airport, we support local artists, photographers, musicians and singers with events in the terminal celebrating Ireland’s rich and vibrant culture. In Dublin Airport, our community fund supports local groups and initiatives, demonstrating our commitment to giving back. We also support local schools through staff volunteering days and help students from disadvantaged areas to further their education through the DCU Access programme.

Increasing Dublin Airport’s annual passenger cap moved an important step closer today as we provided a comprehensive response to Fingal County Council’s request for further information regarding the Infrastructure Application that daa submitted last December. The application seeks permission for a range of significant investments in critical infrastructure and sustainability improvements at Dublin Airport, which would allow us to handle passenger numbers of up to 40 million, which is in line with national aviation policy, the Fingal Development Plan and the Dublin Airport Local Area Plan. Our application responds to the unequivocal national demand for air travel and daa’s role on behalf of the Irish state to manage and sustainably develop Dublin Airport in the national interest. ✈️

Cork Airport and Dublin Airport’ Charity of the Year programme has raised over €4m for 36 different charities across Ireland since 2007, with three new recipients nominated by daa staff every year. A massive thank you to our employees who are the driving force behind the programme and to the hundreds of thousands of passengers who have so generously contributed through the charity collection points at Dublin & Cork airports.

At Cork Airport and Dublin Airport, we are on a journey to halve our carbon emissions by 2030 (for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, aligned with the Public Sector Targets) and reach Net Zero Carbon across our Group by 2050. Our efforts are recognised by the Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme and in our corporate plans to invest over €400 million in sustainable infrastructure across both airports, including renewable energy and electric fleet, as well as incentivising airlines that use more efficient and quieter aircraft.
