Today, my colleague Alina Meyer and I just wrapped up a remarkable opportunity to attend HUPO 2024, Dresden, Germany ! The conference was incredibly insightful, and it was an absolute pleasure to meet and listen to so many brilliant minds from proteomics field. I also got a chance to present my work conducted within the Artursson Lab and GENEGUT as the poster presentation to participants during the conference. A special thank you to Madlen Hubert, Per Artursson, and Mikael Sellin for your guidance and support throughout this journey. And a huge thank you to Swedish Proteomics Society and HUPO for making my travel possible and giving me the opportunity to participate. #GENEGUT #proteomics #HUPO2024

In my first review paper, recently published in the European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, we examine the current state of smart drug delivery capsules and how incorporating recent technological advancements could enable precise, remotely controlled drug delivery to specific regions of the GI tract. This could have a transformative impact on treating conditions like inflammatory bowel disease. 🚀 A big thank you to my co-authors Brendan Griffin, Joseph O'Shea (School of Pharmacy, UCC), Vincent Jannin (Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredients), and Paul Galvin (Tyndall National Institute) for their collaboration on this exciting work! 🤝 This review is funded by the European Union as part of the GENEGUT project, which focuses on developing a novel nanoparticle RNA therapy for the treatment of ileal Crohn’s disease. Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/dtTs7_6A Looking forward to what the future holds for precision medicine in gastrointestinal disorders! 🎯 #smartcapsule #drugdelivery #IBD #crohnsdisease #GENEGUT

Yesterday was the first time we presented CarboHyde - GENEGUT results in public. Kristóf Felegyi and Balázs Attila Kondoros represented us at the annual gathering of Hungarian Pharmaceutialc Technology and Chemistry. Kristof's talk was about amphiphic cyclodextrin he made, their chemistry, formulation into nanoparticles and performance in delivering siRNA in various biological models. You did a fantastic job, Kristof, we are proud of you! #drugdelivery #genetherapy #rna #crohnsdisease

GENEGUT was recently represented by Sophia Hoffmann and Miguel Ramôa at the All-Ireland Schools of Pharmacy Conference at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Congratulations on your presentations!
I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the All-Ireland Schools of Pharmacy Conference at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) over the past two days. It was a rewarding experience to engage with researchers from across Ireland and to present my ongoing work at School of Pharmacy, UCC as part of the GENEGUT consortium. I am incredibly honoured to have been awarded Best Oral Presentation for my talk titled "Examining the Influence of Capsule Size on Gastric Emptying in Pigs." Many thanks to everyone in RCSI for organizing this fantastic event and to my supervisors, Joseph O'Shea and Brendan Griffin, along with our partners at Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredients for their support.
