“One of the highlights of my career as an Assistant Legal Adviser in the Department of Foreign Affairs has been my work as Legal Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations, New York during our term as an elected member of the Security Council in 2021 and 2022. During my posting, I saw first-hand the vital role international law plays in the work of the Council and the UN as a whole. As well as providing legal advice to colleagues, I also had the opportunity to represent Ireland at the Security Council, addressing the Council on international law and accountability.” Anne-Marie O’Sullivan, Assistant Legal Adviser at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland. Le linn mo chuid ama ann, chonaic mé an ról ríthabhachtach atá ag an dlí idirnáisiúnta in obair an Chomhairle agus obair na Náisiún Aontaithe. Mar aon le comhairle dlí a chur ar fáil do mo chomhghleacaithe, bhí deis agam ionadaíocht a dhéanamh ar Éirinn ag an gComhairle Slándála ag labhairt faoin dlí idirnáisiúnta agus faoin gcuntasacht.” Anne-Marie O’Sullivan, Comhairleoir Cúnta Dlí ag an Roinn Gnóthaí Eachtracha.
