Producing windows and doors with the power of the sun! ☀️   How can a window achieve better environmental performance by transitioning to renewable energy? It’s pretty simple. By reducing the emissions associated with energy used for production, our products leave our factory with a lower environmental impact.   With the opening of our state-of-the-art solar farm next door to our factory in Powodowo, Poland, we have taken a large step in the right direction.   Managing Director of NorDan Polska, Waldemar Ptak, is proud of the new facility. «This 10,000 m2 solar panel installation will provide up to 1 megawatt of power, going straight into the production lines for windows, doors and aluminium components here in Powodowo. With the addition of the already running roof-mounted solar panels on our factory in Wolsztyn, we are on track to produce up to 20% of our total consumption based purely on the energy from the sun.»   The solar farm was opened with NorDan Gruppen and NorDan Polska management present, together with representatives from the shareholders. Janne Rasmussen Klungland represents fourth-generation owners and emphasises the importance of supporting sustainable initiatives. «Sustainability and long-term thinking are vital factors in our ownership and important both for the current and the coming generation. It is an honour to cut the ribbon for this project.»   Representing the third generation and being chairperson of the family-held owner company Johs. Rasmussen AS, Børge Rasmussen echoes the need to invest in improved sustainability. «It's always gratifying to invest in projects like this. This solar park makes us more self-sufficient in renewable energy and helps to reduce our footprint further. NorDan's factory in Powodowo is one of Europe's most modern facilities for processing aluminium profiles and manufacturing doors and windows. As a representative of the owners, I am proud to be able to further strengthen the factory with this important investment in renewable energy.»   NorDan Group CEO Dag Kroslid said the following: «For the NorDan Group this is another very good sustainability project. I am impressed with NorDan Polska and how the organisation prioritises sustainability and carries out improvement projects that make a positive difference. It is a testament to its position as a leading window- and door producer in Europe.» #sustainability #solarpowered #PerfektSamspill

The NorDan team were delighted to team up again with John Sisk & Son Ltd, O'Mahony Pike Architects, Kennedy Wilson, and BDA Associates to deliver almost 7,000 sqm of glazing across 471 apartments for the impressive Coopers Cross Development located in the Dublin docklands.   The scope of works called for windows and doors that would blend seamlessly with the surrounding aesthetics, whilst also providing a robust and premium product that is made to last. Sustainable production remains at the forefront of our industry, and a key factor of this project focused on providing a product that is not only sustainably sourced but also provides a level of longevity and eco-efficiency suitable to a project of this scale. Our sustainable manufacturing process combined with our product’s leading warranties and lifespan aligned perfectly with this scope of works.   The main contractor, John Sisk & Son, required a supplier that could keep up with the fast-paced programme, which we delivered on time and on budget. The architects, OMP Architects, required windows and doors that met their strict standards for sustainable construction and comprehensive quality certification. We were delighted to work closely with these teams again and are proud to have delivered this incredible project.   Shaun Mylles, Regional Director, John Sisk & Son shares: "It was a pleasure to work with NorDan again on this technically and logistically challenging project. Having worked with NorDan in the past we were confident that they could deliver on time, on budget and to the exact specification required. No request was too big or too small and every challenge was overcome due to the Teams positive attitude and expertise in their area. We are delighted to continue building our relationship with NorDan on The Glass Bottle and O Devaney Gardens Sites." Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day, and this year's theme is "Change the Narrative, Start the Conversation." The aim is to inspire individuals, communities, organisations, and governments to engage in open and honest discussions about suicide. By initiating these vital conversations, we can break down barriers, raise awareness, and foster more supportive and understanding environments. It's crucial to #StartTheConversation and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues. By sharing our experiences and listening with compassion, we can create a space that promotes open dialogue about mental health. What Can We Do? · Talk: Reach out and initiate a conversation. · Listen: Be present for those in need. · Support: Encourage individuals to seek professional assistance. Nothing is better than when everything comes together in Perfekt Samspill! 🏃 🏅 For the final weekend of August, our colleagues in NorDan Polska once again invited us to join NorDan Run in Wolsztyn. For the third time, the local running club organised a wonderful event where sports, nature and family values came together in what we like to call a textbook example of #PerfektSamspill.   In addition to all the local participants, 13 representatives from NorDan Norge, NorDan Sverige - Fönster & dörrar, VIKING INDUSTRIER and NorDan UAB in Lithunia, NorDan Danmark, NorDan UK Ltd and NorDan Vinduer in Ireland participated as myPULS representatives. Having been invited thanks to their participation in the global group activity programme, they brilliantly represented their respective companies, participating in all distances from 10km to 24km and even the more extreme 48km distance.   NorDan Run is much more than a great sporting event. It is also a brilliant example of what can be achieved when companies and local communities work together to create memorable moments. We already look forward to next year!   #PerfektSamspill #NorDan #myPULS #activity
