We had the honor of hosting the leadership team from Reuth TLV rehabilitation hospital, who visited Helmsley Rehabilitation Center to learn about the process of establishing our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility. Reuth TLV rehabilitation hospital is currently promoting the construction of Israel's largest rehabilitation campus in Tel Aviv, located at the former Sde Dov Airport. The visit aimed to gain insights into the planning, construction phases, and the challenges involved, while learning from our experience in building the Helmsley Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Orit Stein Reisner, Director general of Reuth TLV rehabilitation hospital, shared: "Building a new and advanced rehabilitation hospital is an enormous challenge. I am grateful to the Tzafon Medical Center team for this valuable, professional, and inspiring meeting." Dr. Noam Yehudai, Director of Tzafon Medical Center, expressed his appreciation to Reuth's team: "The challenges of establishing a rehabilitation center in Tel Aviv differ from those in the north, but we share much more in common. Prof. Imad Abu El-Naaj Appointed Full Clinical Professor at Bar-Ilan University We are proud to announce that Prof. Imad Abu El-Naaj, Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tzafon Medical Center (Poriya), has been appointed Full Clinical Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Bar-Ilan University. This prestigious title is a testament to his outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, and education in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Prof. Abu El-Naaj began his medical career at Rambam Health Care Campus in 1994 and later pursued advanced training in Dijon, France, specializing in head and neck oncology and advanced reconstructive techniques. Since 2014, he has been leading the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Oral Medicine and Dentistry Division at Tzafon Medical Center, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing surgical services, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and fostering medical research. With an impressive record of over 120 scientific publications in leading journals, Prof. Abu El-Naaj is recognized internationally for his contributions to the understanding and advancement of maxillofacial surgery and oncology. His expertise is widely acknowledged in national and international professional associations, where he actively shapes clinical standards and leads groundbreaking research. A dedicated educator, Prof. Abu El-Naaj has mentored dozens of students, supervised advanced research projects, and guided PhD candidates. He also heads the “Ilanot” Program at the Bar-Ilan University Faculty of Medicine in Safed, which nurtures academic excellence among medical students. His contributions extend beyond academia—he has secured numerous research grants, co-developed a medical patent, and serves on multiple professional committees at Israel’s Ministry of Health. As a sought-after speaker, he has presented at numerous national and international conferences, sharing his expertise with the global medical community. מחלקת שיקום צעירים במרכז שיקום הלמסלי שבמרכז רפואי צפון - פתחה את שעריה! המחלקה, בהנהלת ד"ר שאדי חוסיין, מיועדת לחיילים ואזרחים, החל מגיל 18, הזקוקים לשיקום באשפוז בעקבות ירידה תפקודית מכל סיבה, פגיעות נוירולוגיות ואורתופדיות. בשלב זה נפתחו במחלקה 18 מיטות אשפוז, בהמשך יפתחו מיטות נוספות. מחלקה זו מתווספת למחלקת שיקום ילדים בהנהלת ד"ר גנאדי גייסמן ושיקום יום ילדים בהנהלת ד"ר רדה נמירובסקי Rada nemirovski שנפתחו בחודש שעבר וכבר מקבלות ילדים ונוער מגיל 0 עד 18 מכל רחבי הצפון. בסופו של דבר צפויות להפתח חמש מחלקות שונות עם כ- 162 מיטות אשפוז נוסף לשיקום לב, שיקום ריאה ושיקום אורודינמי. במקביל לפתיחת המחלקה החדשה, עברו למרכז השיקום החדש גם מחלקת שיקום היום בהנהלת ד"ר האשם ח'ליפה והמחלקה הוותיקה לשיקום גריאטרי בהנהלת ד"ר אמיתי אוברמן. https://lnkd.in/d89xDTJP Noam Yehudai Dana Oz

Exciting News: Dana Oz Appointed Head of the Helmsley Rehabilitation Center at Tzafon Medical Center (Poriya), the first and only rehabilitation center in northern Israel. Dana brings an impressive track record of leadership in healthcare. She previously served as Deputy Regional Medical Officer and Project Manager at Maccabi Healthcare Services in the Northern District. Prior to that, she led the "Bayit Balev" Rehabilitation Center in Nesher, managing 230 beds across three inpatient departments. Dana is a registered nurse with a master’s degree in Emergency Medicine and Disaster Management. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Gerontology at the University of Haifa. Her extensive experience includes managing nursing operations at Maccabi in the North and serving as Head of the Emergency Department at HaEmek Medical Center. "I am honored and proud to take on this role and lead the Helmsley Rehabilitation Center, the first of its kind in the north. This is a revolutionary step in healthcare, ensuring essential access to high-quality rehabilitation services for the residents of northern Israel." Dr. Noam Yehudai, Director of Tzafon Medical Center, added: "Dana Oz is an exceptionally talented leader with extensive experience in managing rehabilitation institutions. Thank You to United Hatzalah Volunteers 💙 This week, a heartfelt appreciation ceremony was held at the North Medical Center (Poriya Medical Center) for the dedicated volunteers of United Hatzalah, who assist in the emergency room (ER) and delivery rooms. For approximately seven years, a fruitful collaboration has been ongoing between the medical center and United Hatzalah. During this time, the volunteers have been providing first aid, performing blood tests and ECGs, and supporting patients and their families. In recent years, female volunteers have also been assisting in the delivery rooms as part of a unique initiative that has become a model for other medical centers. Nearly forty volunteers participate in this special project across the two departments. As part of the annual ceremony, gratitude was expressed once again to the numerous volunteers and to the medical center and ER staff who make this collaboration possible. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the outstanding volunteers who made exceptional contributions. Dr. Noam Yehudai, Director of the Medical Center, said: "Thanks to you, the service we provide to our patients is better. I want to thank each and every one of you for your significant contribution. I also want to thank the ER and delivery room staff for enabling this wonderful collaboration." Moshe Ben Simon, the project’s initiator and former head nurse of the ER, shared: "I’ve been a volunteer with United Hatzalah for quite a few years. About seven years ago, we decided to connect United Hatzalah to the Northern ER. With the excellent partners in the ER, the medical center management, and United Hatzalah, we achieved such a successful collaboration that it’s being replicated in other places." Ariel Ben David, Director of the Development Division at United Hatzalah, added: "The mutual contribution for the benefit of the patients deserves great appreciation. The volunteers specialize in the ER and delivery rooms, bringing unique hands-on experience. Together, we will deepen the collaboration with the medical center."

Twice a year, the Tzafon Medical Center's Trauma Unit conducts intensive seminars for MDA (Magen David Adom in Israel - Israel's National EMS) employees and volunteers, paramedics, and medics from the Jordan Region. This week, approximately 250 volunteers and employees from MDA participated in a two-day seminar on trauma and emergency medicine held in the medical center's auditorium, led by Dr. Barak Levit, Director of the Trauma Unit. The lectures, covering a variety of trauma-related topics, were delivered by physicians from various departments: Dr. Levit gave a lecture on Gun shot injuries and terminal ballistics Dr. Nizar Horrany, Director of the Stroke and Neurology Unit, presented innovations in stroke treatment. Dr. Maayan Dori Friedman from the Department of Geriatric Rehabilitation discussed trauma in older adults. Dr. Fares Salem from the Orthopedic Department explained the principles of applying tourniquets. Dr. Nimrod Blank, Director of the Non-Invasive Cardiac Assessment Unit at the Kittner Davidai Cardiovascular Center, addressed fatal arrhythmias. "This year marks the Jordan Region's 5th conference at the Tzafon Medical Center. Special focus was given to gunshot wounds, ballistics, neurological advancements, and the early detection of cardiac arrhythmias. The conference opened with a tribute to our friend, IDF combat officer Captain (Res.) and MDA paramedic Sagi Yaakov Rubinstein, who served at the MDA station in Tiberias and fell in southern Lebanon defending the homeland. I want to thank the trauma team and the medical center's management for their continued cooperation in organizing this seminar. These meetings significantly strengthen the professional bond between teams, enhance MDA personnel's knowledge, and, most importantly, improve medical responses to patients," said Oren Avitan, Director of the Jordan Region at MDA. At the conclusion of the conference, Dr. Levit was awarded the rank of " Magen Rishon" by Jordan Region Director Oren Avitan. Dr. Levit expressed his gratitude to Avitan and the Tzafon Medical Center while emphasizing the seminar's importance: "These seminar days are an essential part of our ongoing collaboration with MDA personnel. The medical center serves as a warm and welcoming home for the organization's volunteers and employees. This partnership is of unparalleled importance, directly impacting the lives of the wounded and sick in our region." Dr. Noam Yehudai, Director of the Tzafon Medical Center, added: "I congratulate Dr. Barak Levit on receiving the rank of First Guard and commend his tremendous efforts to promote collaboration with emergency teams to ensure the best possible continuum of care for our patients. Exciting Milestone: We are proud to announce the launch of the Helmsley Rehabilitation Center at Tzafon Medical Center (Poriya)! The *FIRST* rehabilitation center in Northern Israel! This groundbreaking facility will transform healthcare services for 1.4 million residents in the North with a 5-story, 24,000 sq meter building, 162 new rehabilitation beds across multiple specialties, Departments including Pediatric, Geriatric, Neurological, Orthopedic, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and Over 550 new jobs created in the region. Dr. Noam Yehudai, director of the Tzafon Medical Center, emphasizes: "Our center will provide top-quality rehabilitation services close to home for soldiers, civilians, children, and elderly – ensuring accessible, comprehensive care for everyone."
