It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Dr Manmohan Singh, a statesman whose leadership and vision have left an indelible mark on India, particularly in uplifting rural communities. His tenure as Prime Minister saw the implementation of transformative policies like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which has been pivotal in ensuring wage employment and enhancing livelihoods in rural India. This initiative alone has been instrumental in reducing poverty and providing a safety net to millions. Dr. Singh's commitment to rural development was not just limited to employment. His government also focused on education through the Right to Education Act, which aimed at providing free and compulsory education to children, many from rural backgrounds, thereby opening doors to opportunities that were previously inaccessible. His economic reforms were designed with a balance, ensuring that growth was inclusive and that the fruits of development reached the farthest villages. His legacy is one of humility, integrity, and a profound understanding of economics tailored to benefit all strata of society. He touched the lives of countless individuals in rural areas, fostering a sense of dignity and self-reliance. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength in the profound impact he had on so many lives. His contributions to rural India will be remembered and cherished for generations to come.

आप सभी को संविधान दिवस की शुभकामनाएँ। November 26 marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949 which came into effect on January 26, 1950. It was a historic moment led by Dr B.R. Ambedkar and his drafting committee, which dedicated 2 years, 11 months, and 17 days to draft this visionary document. As we reflect on their efforts, let’s honour the principles of justice, equality, and freedom enshrined in the Constitution and commit to building a brighter future for all. #ConstitutionDay #ConstitutionDayOfIndia #IndianConstitution #Sustainability #SustainableLivelihood
