Centre for Global Affairs and Public Policy – CGAPP (formerly CGSK) is a non-profit, independent organization set up in 2021 to facilitate interdisciplinary research on governance, the economy, and issues of global significance. It purports to generate research on issues related to sustainable development, public policy, evaluation of government interventions, economic policy, trade, and commerce as well as international relations and politics and regional and global dynamics from an Indian perspective. CGAPP brings together a body of prominent academicians, scholars and professionals from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds articulating different positions on themes and issues to facilitate constructive policy design and issues and encourage broader awareness about global affairs. Our organisation intends to collaborate with national and international research organizations to promote greater exchange and dissemination of ideas on issues of common concern. In order to achieve these objectives, CGAPP seeks funding support for its projects from different governmental and private organizations as well as from funding agencies of both national and international import.

🌊 Calling all NGOs and Civil Societies for Adi Ganga Rejuvenation! 🌿 📢 The Centre for Global Affairs & Public Policy (CGAPP), in association with Amwoodo, is excited to announce an OPEN CALL for NGOs and Civil Societies dedicated to Adi Ganga Rejuvenation and research! As part of Kolkata Climate Week in March 2025, join us to address the critical need for river rejuvenation in Kolkata. CGAPP is combining efforts through "Pravah: The Ganga Expedition" to address waste management challenges, water quality issues, and cutting-edge cleaning technologies. CGAPP launched the "Tackling Plastic Pollution in the Ganga Basin" project in 2023, highlighting the menace of plastic pollution and waste management. The 5-day "Pravah" event in Kolkata will focus on highlighting the waste management challenges, water quality issues, and cleaning technologies in and around the city. This project seeks to create an inclusive platform for dialogue and engagement to inspire collective action and empower participants to implement sustainable practices. What to expect: 🔬 Research: Conduct research on pollutants, including microplastics, in the Ganga and its riverbanks (as per the 'Tackling Plastic Pollution in the Ganga Basin' study). 📢 Outreach: Engage with schools, universities, and communities through awareness campaigns. 🚶♀️ Heritage Walks: Connect with riverine communities and learn about the cultural significance of the Ganga. 🤖 Tech Demonstrations: Witness robotic river cleaning and litter picking using electric robots. 🤝 Policy Discussions: Address waste issues in seminars and discussions. 🌱 Impact: Contribute to cleaning drives and implement sustainable practices. Pravah: The Ganga Anti-Plastic Pollution Campaign A five-day event in Kolkata, focusing on combating plastic pollution along the Ganga river system—one of the largest contributors to oceanic plastic waste. As part of this initiative: ✅ We’ll showcase an automated trash boat, developed by an Indian startup, in action on the river. ✅ Another startup will conduct on-the-spot water quality testing to highlight real-time pollution levels. ✅ The campaign will amplify tech-driven solutions to one of India’s most pressing environmental challenges. Parivartan: Mainstreaming Climate Tech A two-day, startup-centric event dedicated to promoting climate technologies, enhancing startup-government collaboration, and strengthening the climate-tech ecosystem.
