#Opinion | Gains of Green Economy The Budget focus on MSME, energy security and innovation can translate into a green economy thrust. Many think of a green economy only as an energy-centric transition from fossil fuels to renewables. But the opportunities are much greater if we can start reshaping not just the energy India consumes but also the materials it uses. #Opinion | India’s clean energy manufacturing strategy must move beyond ‘China+1’ to ‘India+ Many’ India’s clean energy manufacturing sector has been at a crossroads. Amid geoeconomic shifts, technological disruptions, and sustained calls for localising production, the momentum from the “China+1” approach—expanding trade with other countries, including India, without fully discontinuing imports from China—has proven short-lived. The key takeaway is now becoming clear: India cannot afford to be seen merely as an alternative and must position itself as an indispensable player in global clean energy value chains. ✍ Writing for ThePrint, Rishabh Jain and Shruti Gauba outline how India can begin to embed itself more strategically and widely in the global clean energy market by leveraging the initiatives proposed under the 2025 #UnionBudget. What a weekend at Sustaina India 2.0! From hands-on workshops to thought-provoking conversations, we explored the intersection of art, climate, and storytelling—and had much fun doing it! 🎨 🖌️Led by Shubhi Sachan, founder of Material Library of India, participants in The Material Literacy Workshop extracted natural colours from sustainable sources and explored their application through different mediums. 🎭 In a session with The Climate Party®, Senior Communications Specialist Reethira Kumar and Communications Associate Poojil T used examples from our work to explore the intersection of art, climate, and climate storytelling. 💡 As part of the session NexGen Decides, young changemakers Prachi Shevgaonkar and journalist Garima Sadhwani sparked powerful discussions on India’s youth leadership in climate action. Moderated by Kunalika Gautam, the session got the audience to think about their role in building solutions for the climate crisis. ❓With 20 teams battling it out as part of the Green Mile Quiz, this high-energy session—led by Sujit Ray from the Delhi Quiz Club—kept participants on their toes, ending in thrilling tie-breakers! 💚A big thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate creativity, innovation, and #ClimateAction. #CEEWDialogues | How can Uttarakhand achieve net-zero emissions? Last week, in collaboration with the Government of Uttarakhand and UNDP in India, we convened a stakeholder consultation to explore pathways for the state’s net-zero transition. The discussion brought together civil society organisations, research institutions, and universities working in Uttarakhand. Over the past year, CEEW has been engaged by the Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPGG), SETU Aayog, Government of Uttarakhand, to prepare a net-zero transition plan for the state. Following extensive consultations with state departments across key sectors—energy, agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, and forestry—this session gathered insights from over 20 stakeholders to refine strategies for a sustainable future. #NetZero #Sustainability #ClimateAction #Uttarakhand Pradeep Mehta, PhD, Aman Malik, Pratham Arora, Rhythm Singh, Aparna Pandey, Akshit Kukreti, Anil Joshi, Nidhi Singh, Anoop Nautiyal, Vishal Kala, SANDIP YADAV, Deepika Chhetri, Naveen Sadana, Ananya Sarathe, Achlesh Daverey, Joy Rajbanshi, Mani Deshmukh, Chetna Arora, Samar Tyagi, Manoj Kumar Pant, Raj Shekhar Joshi, Meenakshi Sundaram, Kandarp Mistry, Minal Pathak, ajendra Koshyari, Dr. Chandan Jhaa, Dilip Singh, Gandharva Joshi, Pankaj Kargeti, Sanchit S.
