Champa E - General Manager, KITS, Dept of E. IT, Bt and S&T, Government of Karnataka, delivered her keynote address at the Cyber Crimes Conclave organized by NewsFirstKannada and CySecK. She reiterated the measures taken to bolster cybersecurity within the state to ensure the safety and security of our digital assets. With cyber threats posing a formidable challenge, Karnataka has been at the forefront of cybersecurity initiatives. Since the establishment of the Center of Excellence for Cyber Security, in 2017 it has been promoting best practices, nurturing talent, and driving innovation in this domain. She emphasized that going forward, the state remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing the cybersecurity ecosystem. We're thrilled to share the incredible journey Next Grids embarked on in partnership with News 1st Channel, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards educating students. Our collaboration aimed to organize an extraordinary Hackathon and Startup Pavilion, and it turned out to be nothing short of amazing. Empowering Youth and Innovation Our adventure took us through the gates of 9 prestigious colleges, engaging with the brightest minds across campuses. The enthusiasm was palpable, as over 95 teams, comprising more than 300 students, stepped up to the challenge, eager to showcase their innovative solutions. A Unique Format That Unleashed Potential Setting this event apart was our unique approach to the preliminary rounds, conducted within the college premises themselves. This innovative format allowed us to tap into the vast pool of talent right at its source, culminating in the selection of 24 exceptional teams. These teams were given the golden opportunity to present their prototypes to an esteemed jury, a testament to their hard work and creativity. Gratitude to Our Community This monumental event was made possible by the collective effort of countless individuals who believed in the power of innovation and the potential of our youth. Glad to be a panel speaker on Ransomware Protection at the Cyber Crimes Conclave held last week at JN Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. I shared my thoughts on ransomware ecosystem, why ransomware is rampant, role of cyber insurance and what small & medium businesses can do to tackle ransomware.
