DB RRTS Operations India Private Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under Deutsche Bahn International Operations GmbH (DB IO), part of the DB E.C.O. Group, has been awarded a 12- year contract to manage the operation and maintenance (O&M) of India's first regional rapid transit system branded as NaMo Bharat, which is being implemented by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
The RRTS project aims to connect the cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut through an 82.15-kilometer network, comprising 25 stations and two depots, once fully commissioned by 2025. DB RRTS will operate 40 trains along the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor and will also be responsible for maintaining the rail infrastructure.
A complete team of professionals of 350 people for O&M has been organized in a very short time of just 06 months including recruitment of young team of Maintenance staff, Train Operators, Station Controllers etc. duly imparting them training in highly complex railway system.
