We were happy to host the Power of Business bringing together global and local voices event at London Business School in partnership with Dharma Life. This even was also hosted by Sergei Guriev, Dean of London Business School. This event brought together leaders from business, academia, and social enterprise to explore how companies can harness innovation to create meaningful social impact. Panel 1: Innovating to Empower featured Muthu Murugappan (CEO, EID Parry), Rohini Patil (Dharma Life Entrepreneur), and Luke Beavon (UK CEO, SumUp), moderated by Rajesh Chandy Professor of Marketing and Co-Academic Director, Wheeler Institute for Business and Development. The panel explored how businesses can drive social and environmental progress through innovation, with a focus on sustainability, job creation, and empowering local communities. They discussed the importance of aligning business goals with societal impact, and how companies can create products and services that benefit both people and the planet. Panel 2: Flourishing Careers, Flourishing Children included Tabitha Morton (Executive Director, UN Women UK), Felizitas Lichtenberg (Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion, SumUp), Rohini Patil (Dharma Life Entrepreneur), Lucy Davis (former Head of Responsible AI, Google), and Meera Shah (Head of Smallholder Farmer Portfolio, Shell Foundation), moderated by Gaurav Mehta (Founder, Dharma Life). The panel focused on how businesses, governments, and communities can support women as they balance career aspirations and caregiving responsibilities. Discussions centred on the need for policy reform, the role of technology in enabling flexible work, and building supportive ecosystems that allow women to succeed. The panel was part of their Voice of the Village series, which brings people together to discuss challenges facing rural Indian communities and was the first in-person gathering. Congratulations to the 9 nonprofit organisations who have just been awarded as the grantee winners to Pursue AI and Innovative Tech Projects of the Asia-Pacific Digital Transformation Program, with support from Google.org! 🎉 💻 $1.5 million in funding will be provided to these not-for-profits to empower them to harness innovative technology, such as AI, in pressing societal challenges across areas including education, environmental sustainability and financial inclusion. Grantees include:  ASEAN Foundation – which will strengthen its ASEAN Digital Academy by integrating AI-driven chatbots, establishing a fact-checking community, and advancing cybersecurity training for communities across Southeast Asia Clean Up Australia Ltd – using AI and machine learning for real-time feedback on litter collection and improving the accuracy of environmental data  Dharma Life Foundation – using AI to deliver personalised learning pathways and adaptive content, with a multilingual chatbot and auto-translation features to ensure wider accessibility.  Edufarmers International Foundation – using AI to capture real-time data and drive awareness and behavioural change to combat stunting  Netsafe New Zealand – will develop an AI-powered scam detection app, designed to protect users from fraudulent websites by recognising and verifying genuine brand URLs. Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. – will focus on empowering female micro-entrepreneurs in underserved areas with an AI-driven mobile app to help manage their own businesses. We organized a special multilingual book reading session under our Lighting Up Young Minds (LUYM) initiative. 📖✨ Children explored stories in different languages, celebrating the beauty of diversity and the power of cultural learning! Our young artists also brought their imaginations to life through a vibrant drawing contest themed "Sapnon ki Rangoli." 🖍️✨. Children expressed their creativity by designing beautiful drawings and paintings that reflected their dreams and aspirations. Our 'Lights, Camera, Action' event empowers students through performing arts while raising awareness about clean energy solutions. Throughout the evening, students in Barabanki,UP dazzled the audience with dynamic dance performances, engaging skits, and lively debates that explored important social issues. To illuminate the stage and enhance the performances, we decorated the venue with beautiful solar lights, symbolizing our dedication to promoting renewable energy. The use of solar lighting not only created a magical atmosphere but also served as a reminder of the importance of sustainable practices in our communities. By integrating the arts with themes of clean energy, we empower our students to think critically about environmental issues while fostering creativity and collaboration.
