Mein Jahres Highlight für dieses Jahr steht fest: Ende August konnten wir das Team von HollyBelly Food Boutique aus Neu Delhi bei uns im foodlab. begrüßen und gemeinsam die India Food Week feiern. Unser erstes internationales Popup - einfach so. Auch noch 11 Tage später bin ich beeindruckt von diesem Team, dieser Wärme und dem Mut, mit dem Janeya Mehta mich getragen hat, als er mich ganz kurz verlassen hat. Als vier Wochen vorher noch gar nichts klar war und ich ganz gemütlich auf Juni 2025 schieben wollte, sagte sie "not possible. Just booked the flights." Was dann passiert ist, in nur 8 Tagen - lässt mich nach wie vor mit offenem Mund zurück. Was haben wir nicht alles gefeiert: eine Opening Night, bei der sogar der indische Senator inklusive Botschafterin kam, diverse Thaali Nights und der wir alle kulinarisch von Nord nach Südindien gereist sind. Wir haben ein 10 Course Chefs Menu probieren dürfen, das so unfassbar aromatisch und vielfältig war und wir haben Menschen zum Lunch täglich wiederkommen sehen (because of Butter Chicken and Kerala Curry). Danke für diese ganz besondere Zeit Janeya Mehta, für deinen Mut, deinen Spirit, deine Entschlossenheit und die so große Leidenschaft und Professionalität. Du hast du Welt angehalten, dein Kind aus der Schule genommen und dein Team eingepackt, um jedem Abend und Mittag im Restaurant zu stehen und Menschen von der indischen Küche zu begeistern (obwohl du viel lieber französisch kochst). Thanks a million - you are my superwomen. ***** englisch Version for Janeya Mehta ***** My annual highlight for this year is certain: at the end of August, we welcomed the team from HollyBelly Food Boutique from New Delhi to our foodlab. and celebrated India Food Week together. Our first international pop-up - just like that. Even 11 days later, I am still impressed by this team, this warmth and the courage with which Janeya Mehta carried me when he left me for a very short time. Four weeks before, when nothing was clear and I wanted to postpone to June 2025, she said “not possible. Just booked the flights.” What happened then, in just 8 days - still leaves me with my mouth wide open. We celebrated everything: an opening night where even the Indian senator and ambassador came, various Thaali Nights and we all traveled from North to South India in culinary terms. We were able to try a 10 Course Chefs Menu that was so incredibly aromatic and varied and we saw people coming back every day for lunch (because of Butter Chicken and Kerala Curry). Thank you for this very special time Janeya Mehta, for your courage, your spirit, your determination and such great passion and professionalism. You stopped the world, took your child out of school and packed up your team to stand in the restaurant every evening and lunchtime and inspire people with Indian cuisine (although you much prefer French cooking).
