Bycus Therapeutics: Addressing the critical issue of healthcare accessibility, Bycus is making significant strides in democratizing access to life-saving biosimilars. Their focus on affordable and accessible treatments for diseases like gout, through complex biosimilars like Pegloticase, is a testament to their commitment to improving health equity, particularly in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LIMCs). Parisodhana Technologies Pvt. Ltd: Developing cutting-edge solutions to combat neonatal mortality. Their electricity-free heating solution, the Neowarm blanket, provides a crucial lifeline for newborns in resource-limited settings, ensuring their survival and well-being. Also discussed initiatives of Telangana Innovation Ecosystem like Rejig, Mision10X and national funding programs like Biotech Ignition Grant, Agri Grand Challenge, and Amrit Grand Challenge JanCARE that supported innovators at early stages. Kotak BizLabs, introduced by T-Hub in collaboration with Kotak Mahindra Bank, is a 6-month accelerator program designed to help startups scale, refine their business models, and create meaningful impact. Medtech Connect presented by IKP Knowledge Park and Blockchain for Impact (BFI) at IKP EDEN on 19-Dec-24 was a day for learnings, connections and collaborations. We thank Dr.bangarurajanJDCI Cdsco and Dr. Balamuralidhara V. from JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research for participating in the Regulatory Clinic. We thank Dr. Bikash Roy, Asst. Drugs Controller (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India for taking the time and addressing Start-ups on regulatory pathways for medical device companies and participating in a regulatory Clinic. Kallol Sen of MedQ compliance added his practical experience in working with start-ups to clarify their queries. The startups also interacted with Jai Ganesh, CEO of Dhariki Labs, Sanjay Sarin, CEO of IKP and Sridhar Ramanathan, Sr. Vice President of IKP discussed on scaling up MedTech Start-ups in India. We thank Pooja Agrawal and Annapoorna P K of Blockchain for Impact (BFI) for joining us for the event. We unveiled the BFI Fellows (Hardik Sharma of Adsys, Deval Karia of Open MedLabs and Abhijith Unni of SparshMind Innovations Pvt. IKP CEO Sanjay Sarin participated as a panellist at the 𝘿𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝/𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚 2024, held in Visakhapatnam, with Shri. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was the Chief Guest. During the panel discussion, Dr. Sarin highlighted advancements in diagnostics and their potential for last-mile healthcare delivery. He shared insights into emerging trends, including True Point-of-Care Diagnostics to enable testing as close to the patient as possible, integrated diagnostic platforms combining chemistry, immunology, and molecular diagnostics for broader accessibility and alternate sample types like urine and tongue swabs for tuberculosis. He also stressed the need for mechanisms to bridge the gap between technology availability and public access. Dr. Sarin commended Andhra Pradesh's leadership for fostering innovation, citing Anantapur as a proof-of-concept hub to scale new healthcare solutions.
