Last-mile logistics could emit 160,000 tons of CO₂ annually by 2030. But must convenience come at an environmental cost? In the quick commerce boom, Kazam found a strong use case, that has helped save 19,000 tons of CO₂ emissions in four years. Here’s how our Park & Charge (P&C) centers are making a difference: * As delivery times shorten, urban fulfillment warehouses have grown, increasing orders but pushing up warehouse rental cost per square feet * This has led to smaller, rent-optimised dark stores and very limited space for EV charging and driver facilities. * While the average delivery distance per order dropped from 20 km to 3 kms, rising order volumes mean drivers are logging similar or higher daily distances. * EV two- and three-wheelers cut last-mile delivery costs with energy costs up to 5x lower than petrol, making them an ideal fit, to compensate the warehouse cost and make quick commerce profitable In 2023, Kazam launched Park & Charge, near fulfillment centers in Bangalore and Delhi , to make space for charging, battery-swapping, and rest for delivery partners. An all in one energy center. Today, we operate 60 hubs independently and another 200+ with partners like bigbasket.com, Zepto, Zypp Electric, Mahindra Logistics and many more. With 152 million green kilometers powered by Kazam this year, we’re proving convenience and sustainability can go hand in hand!

We just wrapped up the first edition of #BecknNodeZero2024, where over 250 champions explored how open networks can amplify collective efforts to achieve net-zero goals! The main focus was tackling the tricky challenge of getting all the different players—businesses, communities, governments, and experts to coordinate seamlessly. With a fresh network-centric approach, the participants were eager to reimagine climate solutions through collaboration with fellow nodes. Here’s a glimpse into the two days: ⚡Nandan Nilekani talked about how combining Beckn’s decentralized transactions with ‘Finternet’ (the tokenization of assets) can drive scalable climate solutions. ⚡Dr. Pramod Varma and sujith nair emphasized the power of open networks to slash coordination costs, making climate action a team effort. ⚡Anjali Bansal from Avaana Capital, Akshima Ghate from RMI India, and Sanjay Purohit (Centre for Exponential Change) discussed the role of robust climate data, sustainable cooling, and exponential thinking in making real change. ⚡Srikrishna Sridhar Murthy (Sattva Consulting) noted India’s unique position to tackle climate issues with cutting-edge technology. ⚡From water management and electrified urban e-mobility to circular economy models, unified EV charging, and sustainable agriculture—the workshops focused on every aspect of sustainable living.
