Piramal Foundation joined representatives from partner organizations in the second roundtable for the Capacity Building Commission’s Viksit Panchayat initiative. Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member (HR), CBC, emphasized the importance of collectively defining what a Viksit Panchayat should look like, aligned with Hon'ble PM's vision of #ViksitBharat @2047. He stressed the need to identify and build capacities today that will enable Panchayats to deliver effective, citizen-centric governance. Highlighting the collaborative approach, he underscored that working from zones of competence while accepting zones of incompetence is essential for driving meaningful change. Dr R Balasubramaniam, Member(HR), Capacity Building Commission set the context for the second roundtable with representatives from partner organizations, for CBC’s Viksit Panchayat initiative today. He emphasized that the partners should collectively define what it means for a Panchayat to be Viksit, guided by Hon'ble PM's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. With this future vision, deliberation should happen on what capacities to be built today to ensure that capacity building enable Panchayats to deliver citizen-centric governance. This initiative involves working with both, the political executive and bureaucratic arm to ensure holistic impact. We are delighted to announce the successful final close of our Education Fund at $52 million. This marks an important milestone for us – as the first fund since Greater Share’s launch in 2022 – and we are proud to have raised capital from more than fifty individual investors and organisations across the world. Our innovative philanthropic investment model supports high-impact NGOs with additional long-term funding through investments in best-in-class private equity funds and donations from our private equity partners. A huge thank-you to our partners Bain Capital, Cinven, Hg, Lexington Partners, Nautic Partners LLC and Permira for their continued support. The Education Fund will provide sustainable funding over the next decade to eight NGOs focused on achieving greater education equity in underserved communities across the world.
