Seeing our MRFs through the lens of reciprocity On Saturday last week, we had a small group of young professionals visit our Materials Recovery Facility in Goa, Nessai. The interaction was special. The fact that we see people make efforts to understand the different solutions in waste and the tedious process involved in bringing resources back to nature. Reciprocity is now a word closely connected with giving back to nature. We are glad to see our MRF become a means of giving back. Our MRF, in Goa is integrated into project SAIM, a collaboration between WWF-India and Saahas Zero Waste. Sitting amidst the different waste streams which have been sorted and aggregated, the MRF takes on the shape of new system that we need to build to address waste management. The conversations soon flowed to related subjects which are part of the systemic change that we are looking to build. Foremost was the responsibility that we now have as consumers. The responsibility to reduce, to choose refill and repair. Most importantly the responsibility that we have to bring voices to our choices in a manner where industry and government is forced to listen. #goa #panjim #resourcerecovery #bulkwastegenerators #wastemanagement #margao

We bring together nature, people & technology to manage waste holistically through resource recovery & circular economy
About us
Saahas Zero Waste is a socio-environmental enterprise with an overall experience of 10 years in the waste management sector. We believe in a circular economy where all waste is converted to resources. In this context, we leverage technology and data to provide a transparent view of the waste flow and the impact created through responsible waste management. We specialise in designing and executing customised solutions for the goal of zero waste to landfills, especially for bulk waste generators such as technology parks, residential complexes, educational institutions, hotels and others. In 2018, we were awarded the Swachh Best Practice Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as recognition of the work done in the space. In addition, we work with brands and producers to channelize plastic waste and e-waste for responsible processing under their extended producer responsibilities. In 2019, we diverted 10,000 MT of plastic waste from dumpsites and other open spaces under the extended producer responsibility program. To close the loop, we also offer products made from waste such as roofing sheets, clipboards, stationary, upcycled textile products, apparel and more. Our work supports livelihoods at the base of the pyramid and we consistently strive towards increasing the social impact of our work.

Sunita Raheja, a resident of a town in Haryana, is making remarkable contributions to environmental conservation—perhaps even more so than many self-proclaimed environmentalists. She has launched an initiative to reduce single-use plastic and disposable utensils by founding an NGO called the Utensils Bank. Her organization provides a collection of around 3,000-5,000 reusable utensils for people in nearby areas to borrow for their events and return after use. On average, if 300 people eat three meals a day at an event, her initiative saves around 900 disposable items daily—or 6,300 over a week—from ending up in the earth. 🌱🌱 Let's spread this incredible idea of protecting the environment and celebrate her inspiring efforts! Sunita is a true epitome of feminism and a powerful change agent in society. #Leadership #Environment #Sustainability

Endorsing Refurbishment In the circular economy, reduce and repair have to be included as important pillars. We are happy to report how we have moved on our own commitment to this economic model. ExxtendIT is our fully operational refurbishment facility for laptops in #Bangalore. We started operations in July and since then we have processed 1065 laptops of which 810 were refurbished, 180 were traded and 65 sent to authorised recyclers. Each laptop that comes into our facility goes through a rigorous process of cleaning, data wiping and rigorous testing. We're happy to share the positive feedback from one of our satisfied customers who recently purchased one of our refurbished laptops. #RefurbishedTech #ResourceRecovery #AffordableTech #laptops #CircularEconomy #TechForGood

We’re happy to share the experience of our client who used our recycled roofing sheets. These sheets are a great example of how we can turn waste into valuable building materials, offering both performance and versatility for a variety of applications. At Saahas Zero Waste, we focus on resource recovery—the process of taking materials that would otherwise end up as waste and repurposing them into useful products. Our MLP boards are made from discarded multi-layer plastics, such as food wrappers and packaging, which are processed and converted into durable roofing sheets and other building materials. Contact us today to learn how you can incorporate these innovative MLP boards into your next project and help turn waste into something useful.
