TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute reposted this
On behalf of the Government of Assam, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on completing 50 years of exemplary service as a leading think tank and resource institute in India. I also commend TERI on its 30 successful years of operations in Assam, where its Regional Office, established in 1994, has been pivotal in addressing the challenges of sustainable development and economic empowerment across the Northeast. It is an honour to join this significant occasion, as energy, resources, and sustainability are critical to India's progress. Assam, with its rich biodiversity, fertile lands, and vibrant cultural heritage, plays a crucial role in advancing the nation’s green ambitions. Over the years, TERI has supported Assam’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) priorities and addressed pressing environmental challenges through extensive research and policy advocacy. Its efforts are closely aligned with Assam’s developmental goals and India’s commitments under the Paris Agreement’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Notable initiatives include TERI's Carbon Finance Projects in Assam, two of which are in partnership with the Government of Assam, along with plans for biofertilizer production at the Guwahati Biotechnology Park and potential ventures in nano fertilizer production—significant steps towards sustainable development in the state. As we face global challenges like climate change, energy transition, and sustainable livelihoods, Assam is committed to collaborating with TERI to drive transformative policies that balance economic growth with environmental conservation. I thank Smt. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, and her team for organizing this important event in Guwahati. A warm welcome to Queen Diambi Kabatusuila of Congo, and I echo Shri Ranjit Barthakur’s vision for fostering partnerships between India and Congo to share sustainable practices. #Sustainability #ClimateAction #EnergyTransition #SustainableDevelopment #Assam #TERI #CarbonFinance #SDGs #ParisAgreement #GreenAmbitions #EconomicGrowth #EnvironmentalConservation #Biodiversity #SustainablePractices #GlobalCollaboration TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute Queen Diambi Kabatusuila Tshiyoyo Muata Vibha Dhawan Dr Vibha Dhawan Ranjit Barthakur
