Meet the team members and students of Muktangan. The good folks at Muktangan run seven, high quality English-medium schools in the heart of Mumbai. Delivered in partnership with the government, they’re running a Public Private Partnership that’s serving some of the city’s most marginalized and at-risk students. I wasn’t astounded just by the high level of quality these schools are delivering. Kids were writing and reading, in English, at grade level. They were working through real-life projects to demonstrate their learning. And they were collaborating and fostering communities of support. Their culture was, in other words, real and authentic. And their learning was relevant and innovative. I was most astounded, I think, by the ethos underlying each school. Muktangan’s philosophy is to lean heavily on local, community-based talent. All of their teachers live and reside in the communities in which they serve. To support that - and to deliver on high quality - they’ve developed a robust Training Education Centre that upskills teachers with intensive support and daily coaching. This teacher below, has been at it for ten years. She’s passionate about her kids. And she’s now equipped to start training many other teachers. We need many more Muktangans. We know that so much is possible when we partner with the government. We know that we can deliver on both quality and innovation in the process. We know that the vision of the NEP calls for a new approach. Are you interested in starting a school in partnership with the government? It’s one of our biggest priorities at The Circle. We’ll help you navigate every step of the way. Join The Circle Network and go further together. Applications are now open. The link to apply is in the comments.
